Sites were level and easy to back in to with our travel trailer. Campground was a little busy for a natural forest campground but nice overall. Lake was nice with a paved path around it. Tried fishing off the pier but there wasn’t much to catch in mid-July.

We love this campground. Huge, level sites with plenty of distance between other campers. Easy access to the lake and road to the park is paved. Some sites have electric hookups, our site didn’t. For electric sites the cost is $26 per night. Non electric is $22.

This was our 2nd campground staying in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the Hiawatha National Forest. We were first impressed with the size of the campsites, they were very large and very secluded among numerous trees mostly Pines. There were nice sites that had electric but we chose to go without electric.
They have on site access to an easy 2 mile walking trail that took you to another lake but it was hard to get a view of it due to the trees that have grown but it was still a nice walk.
They have a really nice paved bike trail that runs along the lake through the pine trees.
The bathrooms are amazingly clean!!!
The campground hosts were also amazing! They drove around and made sure everyone was following the rules such as staying quiet. They even had brochures to hand out with plenty of information to do in the area!
We will stay at this camp ground again!

We stayed one night here on our way to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The sites are very typical for National Forest with good size and spacing. There were lots of choices midweek early August. Nice little beach to take a swim since there is not a shower. The mosquitos were bad as you would expect in swampy lake area.

Our stay here in early July 2019 was a pleasant one. The roads in are good for the most part. Dirt roads in the park with some pot holes, but not too bad. Beautiful, LARGE, well spaced campsites can accommodate everything from tents to monster rigs. Price paid reflects Senior Pass. The campground has a free boat launch and a separate launch area for kayaks, etc. We felt (as did others) that the campground was safe enough to leave our kayaks on shore there during our stay and had no trouble. Wood can be purchased from the camp host, but we found lots of wood in camp and just off of the surrounding forest roads.Drinking water is good, but it would be difficult to fill camper tanks. I recommend you come full.. Also, be aware that there is NO DUMP here. Come empty. There are state parks toward Manistique with dumps.Verizon data coverage was marginal at best, but we could get and send calls and texts with a little effort. We loved the cooler weather here in July, kayaking the lake and enjoying the peaceful and quiet northwoods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Very spacious, private sites which were great. Has electric hook ups. Pit toilets were kept clean. No showers. Our site was very convenient to the toilets, garbage and potable water. Hosts have firewood for purchase on honor system. They were absent when we wanted to buy ice though so I’d recommend bringing your own in. Nice paved trail by lake with several swimming spots. 1.8 mile unpaved trail to Van winkle lake (put on bug spray!). Site was very quiet when we were there midweek in mid August.
