“Referred to as the "Maui of the Columbia"”
Crow Butte Park is managed by the Port of Benton, so you won’t need a Discover Pass to enjoy all of the available amenities. The 275 acre park is on an island located in the majestic Columbia River at the very southwest section of Benton County in Washington State. It is accessible by motor and river traffic. There are 50 full service camping sites, three boat launches and a boat basin. Crow Butte Park was initially developed by the Corps of Engineers and then transferred to the State of Washington. The state managed the facility for several years, but was unable to continue operation when budgets became strained. After the state closed the park, local farmers formed an organization and ran Crow Butte for the next four years. The farmers were having difficulty sustaining the maintenance of the park and asked the Corps of Engineers to lease the park to the Port of Benton effective August 1, 2007.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 15, 2024Very nice campground for eastern Washington. Spots are fairly large, several group sites. River frontage spots have great views. Day use/playground area is separate from camping area, but a quick walk. They sell ice and concessions there. Lots of trees and shade, full hook ups. Good paths for bike riding around the camp. Sites along the edge but not on the water back to sage brush - so beware of rattlesnakes if you have pets or children. Many campers had jet skis and would moor them on the river down paths from their camp sites. Flush bathrooms at campground had numerous stalls - 1 shower stall. Bathrooms weren't very clean. Friendly host. Security was good, saw host drive by numerous times; the sheriff made a round or 2 through the park while we were there. Very quiet after 10pm and well into the morning hours.

We were in site 28 which gets the brunt of the wind coming down the Columbia Gorge. We didn’t even bother to setup camp. Rather, we spent most of our time across the way with friends in site 25. They do a good job of providing privacy / wind breaks on the sites on the inside of the loop. We took our kayak, but weren’t able to launch because of the wind and rough waters.
We had no AT&T service in the park, but were able to get some after hiking up to the top of the hill.
Still, this park is well-maintained with paved and level sites, lots of shade, full hookups, a great play area, clean bathroom, great boat launch and dock area for fishermen. There are plenty of hiking choices for leisurely weekend hikes.
We’ve been to this park at least a half dozen times, usually early in the season because it’s close to home. We’ve never had a bad experience here... even with the wind!

We were lucky as we showed up around noon with no reservations. We were able to get in for two nights a Wednesday and Thursday night. I recommend getting reservations. This county park has a boat launch for access into the Columbia river. I would guess at least half of the campers had a boat with them. Our first impression was great, lots of space between sites, close to the river and next door to the day use section of the park.
There is an old hiking trail between site 40 and 42 which leads up to a small hill "Crow Butte", and some other places. The trails has seen better days as they are starting to get over grown.
On a few of the trails there were so many spider webs crossing the path we had to turn around.
When we woke up the next day, we literally had over a hundred spiders on and around our RV and chairs. My bike had 5 spider webs on it.
I would have rated this camp ground at least 4 stars if it were not for all the spiders, We were there in early July, I am not sure if coming at different time of the year, there might be less spiders.
No AT&T access at the campground, but go up the hiking trail a few hundred feet and you have access.
Oh, there were "Beware of Rattle snake" signs. I did not see any.

We camped in a 40-foot motorhome with a Toad and our pull-through site was plenty spacious. Here's my full review -- https://rvseniormoments.com/2019/07/20/crow-butte-park-paterson-wa/

Pros:
The camp hosts were friendly. The bathrooms were super clean. The pull through campsites that we had were huuuuge! And level. The park was a lot of fun for the kids with easy access to the water. The host had a few sprinklers and the kids had fun running through them. It was a hot weekend so it was nice to stay cool with water.
Cons:
Spiders!! And I mean millions and millions of spiders. I know we’re outside and in their home but we couldn’t leave even a chair outside without waking up to spiders all over it. We had a rug outside our trailer and it was infested with spiders nests. We would wake up and open our door to spider webs covering our trailer. We couldn’t sit at the picnic table because it was covered it huuuge spiders. We spoke to the hosts and they said it’s really bad and they have tried to spray but there’s nothing more they can do. The morning we left we tried to hose off our car, trailer, awning, and slide but those nasty spiders are ruthless. They were on our door handles and tongue hitch and inside the wheels. The neighbors next to us left after setting up because they were so grossed out.
We also made reservations online and the price was $30 a night. They wouldn’t let us pay online. Once we arrived they said payment is due Sunday between 10am-2pm. Once we were leaving they charged us $35. We told them their prices online were $30 and the lady didn’t seem to care. Basically said the prices have changed and that’s what they are now. One camp host tried to give us our original reservation price but the other lady wouldn’t t allow it. Pretty sad to lose customer over this situation but I won’t be returning.

We stayed here for 2 days. Campground is very green and well maintained. There is nice walking trails and the sites are close to the river. There is a boat launch near by. Bring your kayaks or paddle boards. You can hear the train across the river, but it isn’t too bad. Very enjoyable experience.

Good county run campground with a marina. Sites are pretty large and level. Grandkids had fun on the large playground. Great hosts who held an Easter egg hunt the day before Easter. Trains are are often but no horns, so not too loud.

This a very nice park. The sites are quite large and level and well maintained. Plenty big enough for a class A or fifth wheel. Full hookups at least at our site and a dump station. Easy access to the river and there is a marina. We will be going back. There are frequent trains that run along side Hwy 14 but once we were inside our trailer we didn’t really notice.
