Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on May 12, 2023It's an easy drive from Moab or I-70 to get here, just at the top of the climb from the highway. The campground has a hill between itself and the highway, so road noise is minimal and one has the sense of being isolated. Mountain bike trails start right at the campsite. Fire rings, Tables and a sun shade exist at each of the 5 sites. One must make reservations, however unreserved sites can be taken, if available. There are pit toilets and trash facilities, but no water. The views are amazing, and the sites big enough and spread out enough so loud neighbors aren't much of a problem.

It’s hot and the best part is the picnic tables have large shaded coverings over them. I was able to drive my high top sprinter van next to one and it was completely shaded which was amazing. I checked the web site and none of the sites were reserved. It’s almost 8:00PM and I’m the only one here. Vault toilets were clean and nice. Trash cans available too. Gps wanted me to drive a little further off-road to get here but their is a road you can see that gps didn’t want to rout me on for some reason. Phone works great. Not 5g but still good enough to watch YouTube.

This is the washed out trail on the right past the main Lone Mesa Group area that you read about elsewhere here. We were the only travel trailer (19ft) but a half dozen people in tents and sleeping in cars around us. Plenty of separation, even existing fire rings. Getting into the flat camping area is tough, absolutely high ground clearance and 4WD needed for vehicles and travel trailers. Beautiful scenery. Quiet was rudely interrupted by a half dozen Polaris Razr ATVs driving thru at sunset who returned in the dark late after sleeping hours to disturb everone. This was noted previously in reviews as nearby Moab rents hundreds of ATVs to tourists who get lost and have no courtesy for others. I'm gonna skip this place when coming back here.

Arrived after a day in Arches. Gps accurate. Cell service good. Was the busiest spot i went to during my trip but still quiet. Great view of sunset, early morning view of hot air balloons rising. Best night sky i saw. I did find humans waste everywhere near bushes so moved my spot a couple of times ( first time i encountered that) pack out what you bring in.. including 💩 human or animal.
