Besides the sound of the river meandering north, this is a very peaceful campground. There is flyfishing for trout here. There is also a take out for the North Platte River, for canoers or kayakers. A control crest was put in below the dugway so boaters are advised to start their trips upstream. This is a free site with 5 campsites (1 pull-through, 4 spurs), group site, vault toilet, day use parking, picnic tables, fire rings/grills, and parking spur. The main attraction is the North Platte River for fishing and floating. No horses are allowed in the campground.

The spots are plenty long for big rigs. We had no problem backing in our 35’ fifth wheel. The river is nice and my husband and dog enjoyed a swim. Sunsets and sunrises were wonderful. First night the sites filled up by 5pm-ish. Tonight, Wednesday, only three of us. We want to thank the nice people who left wood and a sweet note. We did have a great fire which warmed us up. The mountain ridge guiding the river offers a beautiful backdrop. Besides lots of seagulls we also saw a bald eagle, woodpecker, flockers and a few other birds. Lots of chipmunks and rabbits and watch for snakes (we did see a rather large one). Loved this place.

Seminoe Road is a roller coaster paved road. Dugway is about 7 miles from the interstate. Keep your speed down. The entry is a little rough but the camping area roads are good gravel.
There is a pit toilet and hand pump well that is not functional. Sites are generous, covered with pea gravel, and well spaced with a concrete picnic table and fire pit and trash can. There is a group pull-through site with 3 picnic tables. All sites would fit my 30ft motorhome.
There is no dump station.
There are no shade trees so no problem using solar but it can get hot in the sun.
A cliff runs the length of the river and is beautiful in the right light.
I stayed here in the spring when the river was higher and there were no bugs to speak of. A raccoon climbed up on my roof (not the first time). When I went out to check it out, it came right towards me obviously fearless.
Now, in the fall, I was attacked by mosquitoes immediately as flies filled my RV. There weren't many but they were aggressive.
A nice place to stop and get away from the highway. A hike around the area indicates there used to be something going on here but it was long ago.
Fort Steele Historic site is where my GPS always tries to send me to get here and is an interesting stop with information about the long abandoned fort and its residents. Follow the roller coaster road behind the abandoned rest area off the interstate. There's also some historic info past the rest area just over the bridge.

We actually stayed longer then planned because we loved this spot so much. As it was just the beginning of spring the geese were nesting by the river and that was glorious to watch. The bugs were not bad at all during the time that we visited. It was kind of windy, but we made the most of it by flying kites! There was only 1 other RV staying at the site which lent to the quietness and serenity. There is fishing, but I believe you need a permit. We did not have any service on the cell phone, and there was 1 composite toilet. The grounds were clean and pretty level. They have a picnic table, trash can and a fire pit. Our dog Sydney loved staying at this camping spot!

Great stay right off the highway. Also the bar on the way sells beer. Very peaceful place with wildlife and a river. They have vault toilets. No cell coverage but can pick up tv channels with antenna. Please help keep the campground clean, there are trash cans. Will be back.

We used this site as an overnight stop and didn't do much exploring while we were here. There are five individual campsites with fire rings and picnic tables and a group site that could probably accommodate two or three rigs. Clean restrooms. We stayed mid-week and there were two other RVers there and a few people fishing. We had absolutely no cell or internet. Lots of mosquitos in late June. Also saw some pronghorn while we were there. Overall it was incredibly quiet and very little traffic. We would definitely stay here again but only as a one or two night stop.

We stayed here one early October night in 2016 on the way to our destination. It was a wonderful surprise, and we vowed to return and spend some time exploring. It was a bit windy, but there were no bugs. Our springer spaniel loved this place, too!
We were in a fairly small travel trailer, but even large units would have no trouble here.

Great place to spend the night when passing through the area! About 6 miles from I80. Only 5 sites, with 3 occupied when we where there! Campground is along the North Pratte River! We were there on July 5, 2018!

Flat back in spot by river with concrete picnic table and fire ring. Dry camping only but very nice outhouse. 1st come basis but seemed like plenty of room when we came in late Sept Saturday around 4pm. Quiet!

On our way west we used this spot to pull off for a night's rest. About 8 miles from I-80, don't mind the Sinclair refinery on your way to nature.
The campground sits in a scenic valley along the north Platte River. Nobody was here when we pulled in on a Friday evening in October. Our only company was the herd of cows bellowing along the southern ridge. Clean restrooms, nice pull in sites with tables and fire rings.
There is a little trail along the river and this would probably be a good fishing spot or if the weather is right a good swimming hole. Would go back if we passed through the area and needed a place to camp for the night

We stayed one night on our way from Ft. Collins to Jackson. The campground was easy to find. We were there on a Friday night in mid May and there was only one other camper. The sunset over the mountains was spectacular. The campground was extremely quiet and we felt safe. Our site was right next to the river. If it hadn’t been so cold, it would have been a great spot to sit and watch the stars.
