Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on February 22, 2023This is a great COE campground. I had site #17 which was fairly private but did not provide the excellent views that you will get in sites further up the loop hill like #26 and up. The pull-thru site (#39, I think) was a very private site. Not a real view of the lake but still a very private site that sits on top of the hill. Still it had water access to put in kayak and explore. I couldn't find a map with the sites numbered. A very small number of sites are doubles and there is even at least what seemed to me a triple site. Even if you happen to get a double site, it appeared that there was enough room for any size trailer/motorhome. Not all sites are reservable. The only drawback was I had slow Verizon service (unboosted) , I don't know if that was due to site location or it is like that in the entire park. I can visually see several cell towers so perhaps they service other carriers. Overall, a great campground.
All sites appeared to be paved and had an extra pad for putting boat trailer. Most appeared level side to side but some have a slightly sloped driveway.

The sites have crushed gravel and no mud. They are very large and very clean. The view from many of the sites are beautifully picturesque. Kayaks can be loaded into the water from many of the sites.

En route from Gulf Islands National Seashoreto Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Beautiful park and campsite overlookinga lake. Off season, mid week was quiet. Nice, relaxing spot. Check various campsites for price, we paid $28 for lakeside 30 amp but believe there were $24 sites available.

It was cold and windy during our stay but we will definitely come back and stay during warmer weather. Lots of great sites, well maintained and quiet. Several double sites available for sharing.

We had a beautiful lakefront site for our long extended weekend. It’s a very quiet peaceful park and we’ve enjoyed our stay. The only reason for the 3 star review is because the bath houses are awful. They are in major need of an overhaul and most of our time here the toilets have been clogged and the bathrooms in need of a good cleaning.

We stayed there on March 10th, midweek and off season. They only had about 50 sites open for the winter. We ran around all the 100+ campsites and they were all fantastic. If I have my choice next time I’ll stay in #37. It’s very flat, fairly secluded and close to water. Every site is next to the lake. We didn’t use the facilities, but they were working on some of them.
So glad we have Campendium app and found the place. It was a little bit out of the way, but it saved us from having to stay in Atlanta. I’m sure that in the summer the place is packed with all the water sports and 25,000A reservoir.
Would love to go back with our family. We made reservations the day before, but wouldn’t have need to, lots of sites were open.

We stayed for three nights right on the lake. The campground is clean. There aren't restrooms near every site so you may want to keep that in mind when reserving. The sites are plenty large. We did have ants.
