Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on July 22, 2021Great little campground with full hookup on a grassy area. Very nice and neat and a great value. Check in at the Enchanted Hwy gift shop on the Main Street. The campground is one block behind he shop. There is a nice friendly tavern in the former high school turned into a castle and lodge. Very nice locals too. Quirky and fun 30 mile detour.

This is a gem of a place with full hookups for $20. 50/30/20 amp. Google maps doesn’t show this place but it is there and you pay at the Enchanted Highway gift shop on Main St. also yes the gift show is open, though Google maps shows it is permanently closed. The gift shop has cute Enchanted Highway gifts and scooped ice to eat. This town has 2 small gas stations. If after 5pm you setup up on an open site and go to the Enchanted Castle Inn and steakhouse to pay for your site. This is a town assisted campground to help collect the fees. You do t get more small town needing help than this. 10 sites first come first serve.

Checked out the Enchanted Highway on your way (which was awesome) http://enchantedcastlend.com/enchanted-highway/
Then checked in at the gift shop for a night at this campground. Cute town and ice cream at the gift shop. Full Verizon coverage, level sites and full hook ups -minus the cable. Very quiet, only a few trucks going by in the morning. Super friendly people in this town. Would stay again!
Going from there to Bowman we took road 21 to 22, lots of bumps, ugh. New surface planned but not done yet.

Clean and well maintained. It's not a glamorous campground, just grass and based on the honor system. Pick out a site and go to the gift shop (with homemade chocolate eclairs) to pay. The fellow working there was full of info about eating out (1 restaurant and 1 bar & grill), the museum across the street (6 buildings), the grocery store (co-op), and the metal sculptures. For data, I had 3 bars on the Verizon jet pack and 3 bars on the smart phone (AT&T).

Site was clean, easy to navigate and in the heart of a rural North Dakota farming town. It’s harvest time and the streets are busy with all manner of farm equipment. It looks like they are harvesting corn and soy beans, and the fields are full of sunflowers waiting patiently to be harvested. We enjoyed walking through the town and seeing the variety in architecture. There is a wide variety of church styles and a few Art Deco buildings that look like they were dropped out of South Beach. We really enjoyed the Enchanted Highway and loved this rural town.

What you want to know : campsite is a simple field with about ten FHU sites, nice grass, and spaced out. We were the only ones here most of the time, there were some overnighters on Saturday. Internet great for WFH, used ATT but Verizon was good too. A little co op market in town (2 minute walk) has basic essentials for toiletries and food. The town of Medora is about an hour drive. We visited Theodore Roosevelt NP, saw the musical (worth it) and enjoyed the history of the town. There is an exit off the interstate in Dickinson with some chain restaurants and a Walmart.
What you didn’t know you need to know : The guy who owns the campground (and much of the rest of the town) has spent a couple of decades trying to revitalize Regent because he loves the town so much. He turned the closed down school into a castle hotel. He has built incredible metal structures from here to the interstate in order to attract tourists. I can’t say enough about how inspiring this man is or how this endearing little town has nested in my heart. Don who runs the museum is a character and also a local.
We will be back to see the dragon when it breathes fire!
