“nestled near the Sawtooth Mountains”
Constructed in 1995, VALLEY CREEK LODGE is located at the western end of Stanley, near dining and entertainment, yet away from the noisier part of town. All rooms have both front and rear views. A large picture window in the front, provides a magnificent view of the Sawtooth Mountains and step out your back door to your own personal area on a balcony overlooking a magnificent natural riparian area. Valley Creek is just a short stroll and has excellent trout fishing in the summer and fall months and in late summer you may be lucky enough to see a mighty Chinook salmon migrating upstream to spawn. In early spring (March, April) you may see the Steelhead migrating upstream to spawn.

Ratings Summary
RV sites sit on top of a hill. Part way down is an observation area with 4 wooden chairs. We were told the children could not sit there unaccompanied, we complied. Every time after there was an adult sitting with them. At the bottom of the drop off is a pretty little creek in a grassy area. From the top of the hill we noticed where someone had gone to the creek down the hill and through the grass. I sent the kids with their father to seek permission to go to the creek. They were told no and that there was an electric fence at the bottom of the hill. He had their attention at electric fence. 2 nights later the manager accused us of letting the kids go down the hill. When we told him they had not he got angry and insisted they had, he could prove it by showing us 'erosion' on the trail and a path through the grass. Exactly what we saw the first afternoon we got there. Not made by our children. We were accused of 'breaking things', our 2 year old did take the solar light off the stake, it was put back on by his mother. The parking lot and RV pad is gravel. The kids did throw rocks from the top of the hill trying to splash the creek, we're sorry. The children walked by a motorcycle parked next to us to go to the garbage, I guess the manager thought they had stopped too long to look at it because they were told to go away. Not the managers motorcycle and I too walked by it 2x's to go to the garbage. I even took a picture. The garbage cans were full so our bagged garbage next to it was in violation. There is a grassy area I guess the children were supposed to play on, next to the highway. We watched the dogs do their business on that grass (not ours) for 3 days. The owners did pick up the poop but we all know it is still the bathroom. 2 families, 4 adults, 4 children ages 9,8,4, and 2. We were in camp mornings and evenings, gone during the day. The entire time we were there adults were outside the rv's with the children, we were accused of not being seen by the owners watching the children. I was told by the woman the kids were sneaky. We must of been under observation the entire time. In all our travels we have never felt so unwelcome. The RV park is basic, clean and the owner/managers are not pleasant and love to argue. Not family friendly, not even friendly.
