“unique thermal features”

Old Faithful is one of nearly 500 geysers in Yellowstone. It is uncommon to be able to predict geyser eruptions with regularity and Old Faithful has lived up to its name, only lengthening the time between eruptions by about 30 minutes in the last 30 years.

Old Faithful did not disappoint although she wasn’t on schedule!

Although you can see from the benches in the front, best vantage points are opposite from the benches on the circular trail.

It was crazy weather the day we were there and we even got caught in a crazy hail storm as we were leaving the area. FYI .... hail hurts!

So crowded!!! But the geysers are worth the stop. Plan to spend multiple hours walking around the geysers. Everyone waits for Old Faithful to blow every hour but there are so many more interesting geysers around and you might even catch a few erupting.

Visiting Old Faithful Geyser at Yellowstone National Park feels like witnessing nature’s own clockwork magic. Each eruption happens almost on schedule, every 90 minutes or so, making it a wonderfully predictable part of any Yellowstone adventure. As you stand among other onlookers on the conveniently located viewing platforms, there’s a palpable sense of excitement. The moment the geyser erupts, sending a jet of steam and boiling water soaring up to 140 feet into the sky, you can’t help but feel connected to the raw, natural beauty around you. It’s more than just watching a geyser; it’s an experience that brings people together, wrapped in the awe-inspiring backdrop of Yellowstone’s landscapes. Definitely a highlight of any visit to the park!

See “overrated” in the dictionary. The conditions were terrible when we went, but even on a nice day this would have disappointed

This was a must do!!!!! We arrived after erupting and almost turned around. So glad we stayed!!! Awesome experience! We drank coffee from the cafeteria and comfortably sat on deck until it erupted.

She’s still got it!
8 min before predicted. Loved seeing this and you could see the one next to it first so it was a 2 for 1 deal!

She was on schedule for us and did not disappoint! It was fun watching the crowd anticipate her and cheer was fun.
Don’t do what we did and drive through the park with one stop at Old Faithful. Book a few days and enjoy the beauty of Yellowstone.

Beautiful display for over 3 minutes! I loved every second of it. It was crowded but that was okay with us. I was there to see Old Faithful and she didn’t disappoint.

We grabbed food in the gift shop and it was good.

Crowded! Sturgis bikers, campers, families all over. Bathroom line was super long. We waited an hour and a half and Old Faithful did not blow. We left to beat the crowds out. It was so different than I remember as a child. I still think it's worth the stop, but be prepared for the huddled masses and long waits.

One of the best known attractions in Yellowstone for a reason! There are predictions posted inside the inn and if you're there early enough you can sit on one of the MANY Benches to get a good view! There's a cafeteria style restaurant and restrooms as well as some gift shops. The only negative thing i can say about it.. it was by far the busiest place our entire trip.
