Disappointed! Cars & hundreds of people walking on main road made it impossible to enter & sign said parking lot was full. When we asked a local what ‘event’ might be going on we were told
the popularity of the park has created a safety issue AND has taken away the serenity of the preserve.
My family's favorite stop on our pacific coast highway vacation! Had tons of fun exploring and taking pictures of the beautiful landmarks. Each corner we turned had another awesome view! Definitely a must see!!
One of my favorite places in California. Absolutely gorgeous views. I really enjoy south shore. The weather can get dicey, I went in February and got hailed on. Still an 11/10 though.
Incredible serene place to visit and take a short hike with a great chance of spotting seals, otters and deer. A photographers heaven on earth for sure!!
Beautiful! We saw harbor seals at China cove, though it was blocked off so we were unable to go down. Very nice area.
Nice and quiet mid week. Beautiful area.
You can visit this place and just drive around without stopping, which is cool if you just added it to your route while you're on the road and didn't pack the proper hiking attire. Whaler's cove is a beautiful open bay and the first cove you'll probably drive to. There's lots of parking lots throughout the park, so you can drive in and then hike from one of the lots. The entrance fee is $10.
Beautiful area. Surf area is very majestic. Wildlife is amazing. Be careful of all the poison ivy though.
Gorgeous, lots of walking paths and breathtaking sites
absolutely beautiful park, but if you don't get there early be prepared to park outside of the park along the road. This park has limited parking inside ($10 to park inside) so many people have to park outside and walk in (free to walk in - donations appreciated). But once you're in - WOW there is so much to see. Many trails to choose from and walk. You can go down to the beach, climb up hills, see sea lions and scuba divers. Definitely a go to.
