This park is now called Riverwalk RV Park - which is quite deceiving because it's something like 6-7 miles from the river. With that said, it's about as close as you're going to get to the heart of San Antonio. Admittedly, we just parked our rig for a couple of nights while we posted up at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk because we had trouble finding a spot to store the rig short term. The current managers came in to help business and they're great - but there is just so much you can polish an old coin, ya know? Sites are wide and level and convenient.

Sites are very big and grassy in the area where we are staying with a 41 footer..
Looked inside of the disconnect boxes and they are all a little iffy. I have a Progressive HW50 or I would think twice about pluggin in. One disconnect (site 46) had the fuses taken out and hard wired...iffy.

Right from the start, we got a poor attitude at check-in. It is clean and fairly tidy, but it is in the middle of a warehouse district and isn't quiet. If it were not for the close location (12 min. to the Alamo), I would give it a worse rating.

The park itself is nice, but there are a few things that are not so nice.
The bad:
The bathrooms are Dirty.
They were genuinely filthy.
I went in to shower, to find dirty toilet bowls and Dirty showers.
Intoxicated people wander the grounds.
The good:
The grounds staff is friendly and very helpful. And the park is maintained nicely.
The staff is nice.

2.5 stars....
Like most commercial RV parks, this one is basically a parking lot with RVs parked right next to one another. There was decent site separation, but no natural barriers. Our line of RV's also backed up to another RV park which we were separated from by a chain link fence. Across from us was some unused equipment and an RV that appeared to be parked there long term. It all felt kind of junky, to be honest.
The park was right off I-10 and very easy to get to. It is located right on the city bus line that goes downtown, so we were able to take public transportation to the main attractions as well as to some other locales around the city. The neighborhoods near the park aren't that great, but you can find the necessities if you need them. The park was perfectly located for touring downtown for a couple days, but I wouldn't want to spend more than a couple days or a week there.
Overall, this campground wasn't much to look at. The landscaping could use some TLC, there is a lot of junk laying around the edges, the fences are chain link, etc. It didn't feel unsafe, but just kind of run down. That was in keeping with the entire neighborhood, which was mostly industrial and worn. On the flip side, having a bus stop right out front made our lives infinitely easier. We also appreciated the friendly customer service we received and the strong, fast wifi. Overall, we would recommend this park if you're visiting San Antonio to see the sights and you don't mind being in a somewhat run down campground. Otherwise, there are probable better options available.

I entered the office with a "hi Terri". I did a double take and it was so fun, they figure out through the reservations who might be walking in next. Have friendly and very helpful employees named Gavin and Fred. Filled me in about all the transportation to and from the river walk, and all the excursions with all the brochures you could ask for. Also I had forgotten the bag of ice I had just bought and Gavin brought the bag to me at our site. AAA+++

We were looking at River Walk campground but we were directed to a place named Alamo City Rv Park which is pretty much described by the previous review so we think they are the new owners We were welcomed by Fred a very helpful person and like the previous review we were given all the infos we needed for San Antonio. This campground is very clean, it has a very well equipped laundry also very clean and a pool which we did not try as it was very cold while we were there. It was close to San Antonio. Although we did not particularly like our camping spot it was ok as we were there only for 3 days and gone to visit everyday. The lots are large cement slabs and gravel.

We stayed here for quick access to the River Walk. This park is now called Alamo City RV Park. They have installed new concrete slabs, gravel, grass, new sites, and the bathrooms look remodeled! A little bit of space in between the sites and in early March this park was only 40 % full. Laundry room is big, bathroom showers are private, outdoor pool is heated, and they say your name when you check in! Love the customer obsession here and amenities. Close to a busy road but it didn’t bother us for the night. Also construction that had has reroute our trip but that is just part of life. Access to public bus stop that will take you to The river walk and Uber’s show up in less than 10 minutes. Love it!

When we checked in, the employee at the desk seemed confused by the site we had been allotted, so he checked with the owner (I presume) and she changed us to another site. She told him it would hold a 30 foot rig, so I told her we were 45 feet with truck and trailer. Her reply was we could park the truck next to the trailer. That is fine, we have done that many times before. However, the spot she tried to shoehorn us into was not even big enough for our rig. We would have been 2 feet from someone on one side, and there was no way our truck would have fit on the other side as there was another back in spot right there. I have never seen such a bad site in all our many, many nights of camping. But what really got me was they were not full. I felt like she just tried to shove us in somewhere so she could keep sites open in case they needed them for someone else. Gotta get that last dollar. I have never refused a site before, but we refused the site and they finally came up with one that we could pull into. We were told that that section is slated to be redone soon. That said, the rest of the park is coming along nicely. There are some gravel and some concrete sites with grass between. Most seem to have picnic tables and are pretty level. Unfortunately, there are only 4 shared bathroom/shower rooms for the entire park. Seems like way too few for this big of a park. The bus stop out front was convenient for accessing downtown. And the wifi actually worked well even when the park was full.
