Waitsboro Campground is located on beautiful Lake Cumberland in southern Kentucky. The campground overlooks the main body of the lake, offering sweeping scenic views. Dense stands of mature hardwoods forest the site, offering scenic views, pleasant shade and wildlife habitat. The campground offers 17 RV sites, all with electric hookups, and five tent-only sites. Eight of Waitsboro's sites are on the waterfront, making them prime locations for weekend recreation. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities and a dump station. A day-use area with a group picnic shelter and a parking area is also available. Directions: From Somerset Kentucky, take Highway 27 south for 5 miles. Turn right on Waitsboro Road and follow signs to the campground.

This is an Army Corps Engineer campground. This campground is located on the banks of the Cumberland lake. The site was level and well maintained. The bathrooms were immaculate. There is a washing machine and dryer. You can do laundry for $1.75. The dumping station is up a steep hill. It’s safe with beautiful scenery. It felt like most locals used this campground for launching their boats and jet ski.

Perfect spot on the lake. Campground was quiet with very few people. Campsite was level, well maintained and right on the lake. Access road a little narrow and the dump station is at the top of a steep hill.
Note: the pads are gravel, not asphalt.

Nice little campground with views of the lake from some sites. Friendly staff. Not really large rig friendly but our 25 ft Class C was a perfect fit. Only issue I saw was the placement of the dump station, it's right next to the road by the restrooms. If a camper is using the dump station, the road is completely blocked. I'd hate to be there on Sunday afternoon at checkout time! No way to get around as the road is too narrow. Also, The water hose at the dump station didn't work for us. We have Verizon and got a good signal, absolutely zero TV stations on our air antenna.

Easy to find and inexpensive with senior pass. Few sites and therefore quiet, altho speeding boats on weekend are loud. Dump station is very awkward as others have explained. Bath houses very dated, although vanity in women’s w/shower is granite. Seems odd way to update. None of the sites have water access. Lots of trash along shoreline. No trails from campground. Really nothing to do except enjoy view of speeding boats. Outdoor Laundry has been updated with new machines which are free.
