We ended up at Mountain View RV park because we had a last-minute need to be in the Moab area and couldn't secure reservations in town in the busy month of May. Mountain View ended up being a great solution for us. Our price reflects the weekly rate.

The park is small but well kept. Sites are gravel and not 100% level, but we were able to get level without too much trouble. We had a full hookup site and every thing worked well, including the cable TV. The middle pull-through sites are in alternating directions, meaning each site shares its outdoor space with a neighbor, but there were two picnic tables provided. Sites were closer together than we prefer, but typical for a private RV park. The sites around the perimeter of the park face pastureland and have nice views, offering a little more privacy and better scenery than the middle row, but some of the backins were pretty tight and might be tough for larger rigs.

The bathhouse (new in 2018) has 4 separate toilet/sink/shower rooms with very nice modern features (see photos) and is one of the better bath facilities we have seen in an RV park. Laundry was reasonable at $2/wash and $2/dry (machines are typical household machines; pay at the office on the honor system). The park is located in a very small town -- 1 stoplight -- but there is a small grocery store, three gas stations, and a few restaurants. It was dead quiet at night.

This park is the closest RV park to the fantastic Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, and is also a good base for visiting Natural Bridges National Monument. The park is about an hour's drive from Moab along a very scenic route.

Cell service in Monticello was not great on AT&T. We had 3-4 bars of 4G service, but speeds were TERRIBLE. We ended up using the campground wifi, which was perfectly fine for light usage (email, web browsing, blogging, instagram).

Needed an overnight stay without a reservation July 1. We drove past two others in town and this was the best kept. Nothing fancy here but the cleanliness was an A+ and the owner was very personable. We arrived after the office was closed (Hours are 7:30-6) and the sign said to pick a site and spend the night and simply pay in the morning. There are back in and pull thru sites. Laundry facility on site though we Had no need. Full hookups and the electrical looked quite new with 50/30/20 at the pedestals. Most sites have mature trees and a picnic table. Good Sam discounts apply. Monticello is a nice little town with gas & groceries and churches and a Mormon Temple. Though T-Mobile throughout town and the park was 0-1 without a booster which was enough to send and receive texts and access the internet. I’d definitely stay here again.

A really cute little RV park. Had smooth gravel, pull thru sites were much closer together than back in. The laundry is pay at the office $4 a load (includes wash/dry) and the bathhouse is individual. They have pretty western decor and property is really well taken care of. Easy access between Mesa verde and Moab. Good WiFi signal too.

Unsurprisingly, we couldn’t find a campground in Moab that could host us for three weeks in September, so we booked a stay at Mountain View RV Park. We made the mistake of asking for an available pull-through site instead of a back-in, which ended up putting us in the middle row which contains tightly spaced buddy sites. We made do, but it was close quarters. The back-in sites aren’t as long but they are wider. The edge row of pull-throughs are for more transient big rigs and are a good size. There are also a few tent sites covered with grass; the rest of the park is a mix of gravel and dirt.

Although it’s a small RV park in terms of size, it has a bathhouse with 4 bathroom/showers and a laundry room, and a small fenced-in dog park. It’s right next to the highway, so there is some road noise (not as much at night but tractor trailers do pass by at all hours) but otherwise the campground was pretty quiet while we were there. Cell service was decent. I saw download speeds around 20Mbps down and 17Mbps up with my Verizon Jetpack hotspot and MIMO antenna, enough to stream TV with occasional pixelation and stutters. Meanwhile, my AT&T cellphone was getting 60Mbps down and 12Mpbs up.

The campground is located at the northern edge of Monticello, which is a small town but still has a grocery store, a Family Dollar, and a few gas stations with convenience stores (including an Exxon station that does propane refills). There are a few eateries/restaurants but some were closed for the season. Monticello is at a higher elevation than Moab: during our stay we had daytime temps in the 80s while Moab was in the 90s.

Pros: very friendly staff. We originally had site 5, but it was small and closer to the road, so the road noise was loud. We asked to move and we were able to switch to site 9 which was a bit bigger and had less road noise. Also had a few packages to get and it was no problem.

Cons: Note to all; if you check Google maps satellite, if there are windmills it means it will be very windy. Additionally, although many have stated the WiFi is great, but we found it slow and after ~5pm (when people arrived back for the evening) it was almost unusable. With no other options, and spotty cell phone coverage, it made for challenging online access.

We would stay here again, but go in with the right expectations

Small Park, the center row was very close quarters. Another reviewer called it buddy style. I thought it was going to be a bad stay but it turned out ok. We had shade. The laundry room was nice. I liked paying at the office and not pumping quarters in each machine. Also they were good size machines. Close to Arches And Canyon Land. Some road noise but that's the way it is. They still have a fair rate [$45.00].

We were traveling through on our way to Mesa Verde. Campground is clean and well maintained. It’s a no frills campground close to the road but road noise was minimal. Shower house and restrooms were fairly new and very nice. We had full hookups.water pressure was good. Campground Wi-Fi and cable tv were weak. No problems and would probably stay here again if traveling through.

Well maintained park with updated bathrooms and laundry area. Perfect home base for exploring the Canyonlands and Arches without being crowded. By far the best choice in Monticello. Close to local grocery store, coffee shop, and other stores for browsing. Stop at the Visitors Center and Frontier Museum for all your travel needs, souvenirs, and a blast to the past! Thanks for a great stay! Will be back!

Arrived late afternoon on a Sunday in a rain storm and the proprietor was able to fit us in. We had a nice pull through site in tree’s. A picnic table at each site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Full hookups at every site. They also have a dump station if you need only that. The bathrooms were spotless and family style. Great showers. Wonderful new washer and dryer rooms. Need to prepay for washers at office. We enjoyed our stay and will keep it in mind for future trips.

The owners appear to be updating the grounds with new sidewalks and cute grain bin ‘tents or cabins’ to stay in alongside the FHU spots. There are also tent sites.
The sites are gravel and when we leveled the RV our steps were so far off the ground we needed a step stool and our dogs could not climb the steps. But we enjoyed FHU for air conditioning and heat in the morning.
We would stay here again.
Now we are off to explore!
