This is a beautiful and large campground. It has a lot of activities and amenities. Great for kids. Has a wave pool three slides a pool area for littler ones. Horseback riding and paddle boats and more.
Just in and out. Convenient located off the 80 and if you don’t mind the hum of the highway. Great grounds. Saw deer, bunnies, raccoon (ready for late night scavenging) and skunk (luckily ran away from the sites). Clean facilities.
Not a bad state park outside of Omaha (towards Lincoln). Awesome access to the Strategic Air Command museum, which is right outside the park entrance.
Electric only campsites with water and dump station available on site. Sites available on a couple of loops. I stayed in the Little Creek Campground.
Price is $22 per night + $5 per vehicle, so with my Jeep and trailer I paid $27/night.
A bit of noise heard from nearby I-80.
Was nice to ride the bike around the park and climb up the observation tower.
There are horses on site, but they frown upon you feeding them. Go figure!

The price reflects a $22/day camping fee plus a daily use fee of $8/day for non-Nebraska vehicles. There are two campgrounds in the park, and these comments relate to Little Creek, the larger campground. The sites are all paved, quite level, back in and electric only, mostly 30 amp with a few 50 amp. The reservable sites (1-43) are a little more open while sites with higher numbers are in a slightly more wooded area. Site separation is very good, though as you might expect the sites on the outside of the loops and particularly at the end of the loop have the best privacy. We really enjoyed site 27, especially since it has a very easy angle of approach from the loop. NOTE: Camping check in is at the main administrative building, not the small entry hut, but we were told that because we had reserved and paid online it wasn't even necessary to check in.
The bathhouse was relatively large (4 showers in men's and women's rooms) but really dated and musty. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm water (but not too hot) and good flow time on the push-button showers. There is a double dump station along the road between the entry and the campgrounds, with easy access to water and dumping on the way in or out.
The wildlife in the park is great. We saw turkeys, deer, fox squirrels, and many different birds every day. The park offers many activities including horseback riding, fishing, several playgrounds, walking trails, and even a restaurant. It is very nicely wooded and hilly, with streams and lakes throughout, so definitely not what I expected to find in Nebraska.
The campgrounds are close to I-80, and there is quite a bit of road noise during the day; at night it quieted down a lot. There is not much in the immediate vicinity other than the Strategic Air Command museum -- which is well worth a visit -- but Omaha's big stores are within a 30 minute drive. Overall we really liked the park; my only dings are the road noise, the relative isolation, and the very grungy bathhouse.

The place was 95% full ; lots of children, hipsters and hippies. About 50/50 tents and luxury Rvs. Beautifully laid out and landscaped.
BUT... Tons of traffic noise all night long from the adjacent interstate truck traffic; like sleeping on Main Street at noon! And the shower house was an architect's master work but the maintenance was sad. Someone needs to learn that bleach easily removes mold.
On the plus side, there's lots to do, including the wonderful space museum next door

We only stayed one night on our way to South Dakota but was very impressed with this state park! We stayed in the Little Creek Campground. The campground was very well kept and most spots were shaded. We did not get to do a lot while we were there but saw that they had a waterpark, two lakes, kayaking, paddle-boats, a restaurant, ice cream shop, golf range , mini golf, and zip lining.
The best part for us was the great signal! We work online and had absolutely no problem. Download speeds were between 30-50 depending on the time of day and upload was around 10-11.

Camping is almost a secondary experience here. Campgrounds are very nice with a lot of trees. The tent campground is so close to I-80 that the noise is pretty bad..all day.. all night. There are also many cabins for rent and also rooms in the main lodge. There is hiking, horseback riding, swimming, wave pool, playgrounds, driving range, indoor playground, crafts... you wont get bored. Plus the Strategic Air Command air and space museum is next door. And just across I-80 is a beautiful drive thru zoo. Mahoney is just off I-80 between Lincoln and Omaha. See the website for details

We stay here Memorial Day 2020. This park was basically shut down due to the coronovirus. The closest bathroom to our site was a 1/2 mile hike. We weren't given any maps. No shower facilities. Park seemed like it would be a really nice park to visit and we hope to come back once all of the virus crap is over! But for now, unless all you want is a spot to camp for the night, pass on this one.
Also, the campsite numbers are not on the signs for the campground loops. Make sure you know what campground you are staying in!

We arrived on a Monday afternoon with no reservations and were given the last FHU site in the Little Creek campground. It was a beautiful, spacious spot and we loved it! On our next to last night, a VERY large branch from a big tree in our site fell but luckily did not hit us. The next morning the superintendent, Zach, and several other employees came to check it out and deemed it unsafe for us to stay. Zach refunded us two nights and found another spot for us to move to for the last night of our reservation. We are so thankful they had our best interests in mind and wanted to move us to keep us and our rig safe. This is a beautiful state park with lots of walking paths, driving range, putt putt and many other amenities. Great central location to Lincoln and Omaha and the cute little town of Ashland. If we’re ever in this area again, we will definitely stay here!
