When you pull in there is a long driveway where you can easily park your rig to go in and register. We were given directions to our campsite and that brought us the wrong direction into our pullthru, so we double checked with the office and got directions for the best way to approach our site. The campground layout is a little confusing, with the pullthru sites alternating direction. Our site was dirt and more dirt, with lots of trees around and overhead. We had ample room between spots and enjoyed our firepit one evening.

The roads throughout the campground were easily navigated with our fifth wheel, so I would think most rigs wouldn't have a problem. We had a full hookup site, but with 30 amps, there are some 50 amp sites, but not all have sewer, so it's a mixed bag. We were in the shade and it wasn't super hot, so that was fine. In the front of the park there are several spots in the grass without any tree cover. I'm not sure what kind of hookups they have, but it's an option if you want satellite and don't mind being close to the road, we didn't even bother trying our satellite.

We didn't use the bath house, but they looked clean. There was a laundry facility, but it was closed when we were there. They have a nice swimming pool and basic playground, to help keep the kids occupied. We had no wifi at our site, but our Verizon Jetpack worked fine (I used our booster). AT&T was unusable at the campground, but worked fine in town.

We enjoyed our stay and would stay again, my biggest complaint is the road and sites are all dark dirt. I made the mistake of walking up to the office in flip flops and decided closed shoes are best.

The campground was forested (and as a result rather dark), with dirt roads and sites. I had expected a bit more. It was full, busy, crowded and loud when we stayed. The trees were nice.

Like most KOAs, this place is overpriced for what it is. We paid $56 for just water/electric. On the other hand, there was a lot we really liked.

For starters, we had an excellent site along the back perimeter. It was huge and heavily treed in all directions. While we could certainly see our neighbors, as commercial campgrounds go, this was one of the best. We were very happy with the amount of privacy we had.

Additionally, this park was located just about 10 to 15 minutes from the Munising entrance of Pictured Rocks. Really, you can't get much closer to the park.

Our site was just water/electric, but the utilities worked well and we had no problem with leveling. Roads were reasonably wide, trees were appropriately trimmed back, and navigating the campground in our motorhome was pretty easy. The only issue we had was with their printed campground map which, for some reason, was not drawn to scale. That caused some confusion the first time we drove to our site, but it wasn't a huge issue. Just realize, the current map is not completely accurate.

Leading up to our stay here, I almost canceled our reservation and booked a competing campground that offered full hook ups for about $40 per night. But that place was just a big open field with no trees, and we figured we might as well try this place out. We are so glad we stuck with the original plan. Our site was perfect for our needs and offered convenient access to the sights nearby. We would stay here again if we were to return to Munising.

I gave this four stars overall but was honestly between this and three stars for just a couple of reasons. For the price in this area I think I expected a little more. Second was the site configurations and your neighbor's proximity. We had a pull through site with full hookups. It is certainly convenient for the campgrounds to put hookups between sites, which then has campers at each site pulling through in different directions so you are back-to-back (configuration of fire pits also dictates this), but then you are front-to-front with someone. Got a little odd when we were trying to cook dinner and hang out and the people at the next campsite are watching us like a show because their camper door faced our direction. Don't get me wrong, they were nice people and we chatted a few times on the trip, but not much privacy in your camp space. I also felt the fire pits between the sites were really close, I'd say within 10' of each other. If both sites tried to fully circle their fire pit, that probably would not be possible given the space. Would be great if the other site were people you knew, but is a little odd with strangers.

We did use the pool when we were there and it was clean, and was refreshing. The kids enjoyed it (as all kids do).

The sites were pretty level, they were wooded so it was shaded. After some rain there were a few mud puddles around, but they dried fairly quickly. The kids playground got really muddy after rain, so that was a no-go.

Really we were there to sight see, so not a ton of time was spent at the campgrounds, so it worked fine for us.

We had a pull-thru water/electric only site. The staff was very friendly. We aren't huge KOA fans, but the location here was excellent and we were actually pretty happy with how large our site was, as we were on a corner. Not sure of the actual daily rate as we had some points to use. Site 8 looked awesome, as it was forested on 2/3 sides.

Two issues I had were the bathrooms and the cell service. Cell service isn't their fault, but even with a booster, it was hardly workable (Verizon hotspot/mifi). There is full cell service only a few minutes away in Munising.

The second issue was the bathrooms. We are self contained and don't often use campground bathrooms, but I decided to use their showers. The bathroom was dirty, especially the floor (it's also located right near the pool). There was tons of sand in the shower, which was gross. And the shower head was incredibly rusty, so water wasn't coming out of half of the holes.

Overall, we'd stay here again because the location is great and our actual site was quite large, but I do think it's overpriced (as all KOAs are).

as said above. All sandy dirt, no pads. Minimal almost unusable Verizon, OK Sprint signal but no throughput. Marginally usable ATT.

Dirt get muddy after rain we had.

Busy, noisy dogs and babies, as folks walk their dogs thru the neighborhood many dogs bark, its like radar in a way.

I rated Sprint no service bar since the thruput was almost zero.

Staff was good, Amazon packages were presented to me on arrival.

Arrived at 5 and left the next morning. In a Pleasureway OnTour 2.2 campervan. Don’t remember the site but it was in a corner behind the pool. Cell service on ATT was ok. The man at the desk was very pleasant and helpful. This place is great for children. A lot to do and a nice pool. A lot of other children and convenient to Pictured Rock. That said, the the sites were close together and at different angles. A little confusing. Everything was sandy dirt. Site was level. Main problem was the bathroom. A large campground with only one bathhouse and many sites did not have water. The bathrooms were old and not at KOA standards. Did not look clean. To be fair, with all those people and children and one building, there is no way to keep it clean even cleaning it 4x per day. Also, I believe the campground was privately owned and was bought last year. It then became a KOA. It takes time for improvements if that is true. Noisy bc of children but that is nice that they were having such a good time.

We stayed 4 nights at this KOA. It was very close to Pictured Rocks! Sites were shady, but quite close together. Good park for kids with lots of activities. Our AT&T service was good enough to work but not that strong.

We could only stay one night but would have stayed a week if we could. With the falling leaves it was beautiful. The campground was shutting down in a week for the season and only had about a dozen campers. We stayed in the far back row in a spacious private spot which is not typical of a KOA campground. The whole back row was like that but some other sites looked close together. The wifi was outstanding even though the campground is heavily wooded. This is the perfect place to stay (besides the price) if exploring the west side of Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore.

We averaged $44 / night for W/E30/I with out KOA discount ($49 without). Our dirt space sloped 4 to 6 inches between our wheels but was totally shaded as the entire campground is heavily wooded. Internet service was very good. While there sites were spacious with many trees between neighboring sites, the area where we could park our motorhome on the site was very narrow with trees on both sides. it was difficult to turn into our space. Also, we made reservations for our 37' motorhome towing a car. However, our site as barely long enough for our motorhome and it was very difficult to park our car without blocking roads. The individual checking us in upon arrival said if we could not fit our car on the site, we could park it in overflow parking on the other side of the campground!!!! Unacceptable!!! My 2 star rating reflects the fact that our site was not acceptable for what our reservation requested and the individual who registered us instructing us to park our car across the campground.

This campground is only a couple of miles from Munising. Many waterfalls and overlooks throughout the area are well worth seeing. Not to be missed is the Pictured Rock Cruise. Though a bit pricey at $50 / person, the sunset cruise we did was spectacular!!!!
