“a true country campground”
Arrowhead Point Campground & Cabins invites you to enjoy our true country campground outside the hustle and bustle of lights and noise in town, located on 23 acres with campsites, cabins, cottages and yurts in a mountain setting with wide open skies and bright stars where Colorado is conveniently located all around us for a fun and memorable family vacation! Located on the beautiful Collegiate Peaks Scenic Byway in Buena Vista, Colorado, Arrowhead Point is the Home of The Original 1800’s Pony Express and Stage Coach Stop. The 23 acre property still contains the bunkhouse, stable and tack room from the 1800’s when it was one of the 165 weigh stations on the Pony Express route. Come see us!

Other than that it was clean and staff were very helpful. It was nice to have full hookups, wish there was a bit of shade.

To my disappointment, my hot water heater/boiler was not working when I ran off of LP on my most recent trip, so I decided to suck it up and go with sites that had shore power versus waste precious vacation time trying to diagnose and fix the problem. I wanted a site that was convenient to both Buena Vista and Twin Lakes and Arrowhead Point fit the bill. I called from Ft. Morgan and made my reservations and arrived before the office closed.
The check-in process was pleasant and quick and I was escorted to my site by one of the owners. I had requested an electric and water only site. The site was small, but very pleasant and owner guided me as I backed my T@b into the site, and nestled the trailer among the trees on the site. The site came with a picnic table, fire ring, water connection, and shore power. The sites are not very private, but such is life in a commercial park.
The CG is right along the highway, to the east, and with the Collegiate Peaks in the background, to the west. The highway noise was not bad and I never heard it when I went to bed at night.
The WiFi at the CG was probably the best I have experienced at a commercial park. I also received decent 4G on Verizon with no booster. I did not even try to pick up TV channels with my over the air antenna as I know that you really don't get any channels in this area.
What I liked:
- Easy access
- Reasonable prices for a commercial park
- Friendly staff
- Wifi/cell service quality
What could have been better:
- Location, good, but not ideal, for someone who wants to feel totally away from it all.
If I need to camp with hook ups I would consider camping here, again.

Spent long weekend here and it was a good park. Short drive north of Buena Vista, CO. Level site and fairly large. Good WiFi and OK AT&T WiFi.

As new travel trailer owners living in Denver, we wanted a close destination where we could learn about our trailer's systems in a controlled environment.
At about 2 hours away, Arrowhead Point was the perfect place to begin our RV Lifestyle. A staff member lead us to our sight and assisted as we backed into the wide campsite. Hook-ups were explained and we were sipping cocktails within 30 minutes of our arrival.
Located a bit to the north of the town of Buena Vista, it was close enough to meet friends, and do some shopping/dining and visit the local hot springs There is a lot to do and see in this valley. Staff was friendly, the General Store was well stocked and the facilities were in decent condition - rustic but not run down.
I believe there is a trade-off between the more quiet sites (away from the road-but poor cell service) and those closer to Highway 24 (these areas could pick up cell signals). As with other reviews for this campground, we had little to no cell service and WiFi was not always reliable. I would not stay here if I needed regular internet access.
We left BV for home more confident and anticipating our next adventure!

We stayed in the far left corner of the campground. There was only 3 campers over there and we had sooo much room to spread out.
We had 5mb download AT&T without our weboost and 15mb with our we boost.

Our first ever outing. Arrived after closing. Note on door with instructions. They were apologetic they weren't around to help get us situated. 50 amp w/cable. WiFi is iffy and none to one bar Verizon.

Loved the park. Very nice place with views from pretty much any spot. We’ll maintained with friendly staff. Showers are coin operated (first I’ve seen that), but bathrooms were clean. WiFi recently upgraded and is pretty stellar during the day, but very slow at night when everyone is on. Very poor cell service. Almost nonexistent.

We stayed for a long weekend in early June 2022. New owners so older reviews probably not applicable. Easy access to all local activities in the area. Awesome sunrise views to the East. Sites are very clean and easy for backing in. Arrival escort was much appreciated. This is too far out of town to have good cell phone signals so we wish the wifi had been better. Wifi speed was too slow for streaming and clicked off several times each day. Park was only half full so poor performance wasn't due to too many users. If not needing wifi I'd give 5 stars, but in 2022 poor internet access just isn't acceptable in my opinion when the park website says wifi is excellent.

Very nice site. Cathy (co-owner) was exceptionally personable and nice on overnight checkin. Level spots, nice gravel/dirt roads.
