The blade is huge, the mural is nice. There is a construction project going on around it. I did not find any kind of interpretative signage...maybe that's being revamped?
Worth the stop! We loved the patriotic mural painted on the blade. It's massive btw. Very impressive. The bathrooms were air conditioned and very clean!
Really neat! Great park, very clean bathrooms
Awesome, kids loved it!
We stopped here on our 2021 road trip as we were coming from Amarillo to OKC. Definitely worth the stop just so you can see the sheer size of these things! My kids were pretty impressed. It's in a safe area (right next to police station/city offices) and you can get right up to the turbine blade. According to the site, the blade is 122' long; I took a picture of my daughter at the small end and you can just barely see my son way in the background at the other end. They really are huge! Definitely worth a stop if you're not from a part of the country where wind farms are a thing (like us!).
Was interesting if you never seen a wind turbine on the ground. Great learning information also, but not exactly what I expected. Also, some of the these board were hard to read from bleaching. Was more at Awwed seeing the hundreds of wind turbine on the interstate.
We visited here in the summer of 2017. It was awesome to see one up close! We were blown away by the size! There is also a really great display case that teaches you all about wind power.
My children Kept asking about the wind mills, therefore I made a stop here to show them how big they really were and educate them what they are for. Rather then them hearing from my mouth :). Also at this stop is a memorial for vets. Happy Trails.
Pretty cool to see one up close. Gives you a nice perspective of the size of these things.
Great to see up close, after this we passed miles of windfarms and it really put the size of them in perspective. Also has a picnic table and we had lunch while the kids climbed all over the blade. There is war memorial here as well.
