“A rare cold water geyser”

Crystal Geyser is located on the east bank of the Green River approximately 4.5 miles (7.25 km) downstream from Green River, Utah. It is a rare example of a cold water carbon dioxide driven geyser; geothermal activity does not play a role in the activity of the geyser.

In addition... Once I got close to the destination, I used my own maps app, typed in Crystal Geyser and it brought us right to it.

As others said even if the geyser isn't bubbling up, this was a neat stop and beautiful! Follow Google maps directions.

We came to see this little geyser and it’s pretty cool!! My 7 year old was amazed and she loved playing in the water around the geyser. You can see the carbon dioxide gas emitting just above the water where it spouts out. At this time, it’s not very big and barely spouting off, but it was worth the 20 minute drive off hwy 70 for sure.

Even if it’s not erupting, it’s worth a trip. The area is beautiful. You do have to drive about 10 minutes on a dirt/gravel road. If you just Google it in Google maps, it gives you the correct directions.

For anyone who is interested. If you make this journey off the interstate. The site is about 2.5 - 3 miles off the interstate. PLEASE DO NOT DEPEND ON GPS SYSTEMS TO FIND IT. We almost gave up, but decided to go on down to the river just to check it out. So, there it was. The geyser is located near the river bank. On the way I took several pictures of the rock formations.

Interesting phenomenon, but totally man made. The geyser never blew but did bubble up and then fizzled out. Isn't worth the drive on a long graveled road.
