Broad Beach

The Broad Beach neighborhood is one of the most expensive and exclusive in Malibu. Home to many well known celebrities and entertainment industry titans (e.g. Goldie Hawn, Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, Danny DeVito), the 1.1-mile stretch of Malibu coastline includes a community of 108 beachfront homes. The public does have access to it, it's mainly the owners of the wonderful houses above that use it. Bulkheads, rock piles, and other methods are being employed to protect these homes from beach erosion. At higher tides and during the winter there is no dry sand to walk on. At lower tides in the summer, the locals will enjoy this spot and with the gradually sloping beach it is excellent for walking barefoot in the surf Beach access is available through two sanctioned paths to the beach, one a stairway at 31344 Broad Beach Road and a cement walkway and steps at 31200.
