It has been several years, but found them by accident and they had room. Usually heavily reserved well in advance. Many on forumns consider it "Florida's Best" C/G. Lots of activities, conveniences, services and a big family camping experience. Lots of kids of all ages in park.

Wooded campsites, somewhat close together, but adequate privacy in ours. Shopping if needed nearby, beaches were long walks. Good family spot for a vacation.

We've been doing the whole Florida State Parks thing for a couple of months now and love them. Affordable, woodsy and plenty of trails, deserted beaches, etc.

This is kind of a different story altogether.

We were almost immediately greeted by a fellow Airstreamer. He came over to tout the various other silver bullets in the park and it's, believe it or not, the first time this has happened in all of Florida (though a regular occurrence elsewhere).

Anyway, large paved spots, full hookups, and everything from playgrounds to breakfast with the Rangers. Definitely more expensive than your typical state park, but who doesn't want to splurge now and again?

This is a deluxe campground in a state park. Deluxe in that it has full hook-ups, concrete pads, wifi hotspot, laundry mat, camp store, fabulous nature hikes and the jewel is the beach! We don't eat out much so we can't comment about restaurants, but it looks like there are enough around and reasonable shopping areas. While the campground is "full" there are sites that are empty for a day or two so it never seems really crowded. It is easy to drive or walk around - you never feel like you are going to get hit like we have in other private RV Resorts here in Florida during peak season. But there is one road in our "loop" that is needs a face lift and a few sites where the concrete pad has been broken into multiple pieces. Sadly, ours is one of the worst.
We didn't see them, but there are cabins and tent sites.
What we liked the most: location location location! Easy to get to and virtually on the beach, although it is a good walk to it. Multiple nature walking trails. They offer a free tram ride hourly to and from it to a parking lot. It is wooded so that gives some privacy. And of course, all the above amenities.
What needs improvement: Just a few concrete pads need replaced and the one road needs resurfacing.
There really is nothing we don't like and we can't wait to return!

I have stayed here twice while attending an Airstream rally. It's a very nice park and secluded access to the pristine Florida Pan-handle beach. There are also some sandy hiking trails that can be accessed from the campground. Other day trips could include going to see historic Seaside and its many Airstream food trucks. My only problem and this goes with all Florida State Park beaches, you can't have a dog on the beach. So if I wasn't attending this rally, I can't see paying over $40.

The park is conveniently located on hwy 30a just east of Destin and Mirimar beach. The 30a bike path is accessible from the park. The beach is a 1.3 mile paved pedestrian/bicycle only pathway walk from the grounds, but the park provides a shuttle so you don't have to carry all your beach gear that far!!
Sites are beautiful and spacious. A few had concrete pads that were heaved and broken, could make leveling a serious challenge for someone unfortunate enough to reserve those spots. The park turned off the water to the laundry and showers several times without notice which was annoying and inconvenient. The water on the site tasted so bad, even with a filter, that we turned it off. Otherwise a good place, albeit expensive, to stay.

Read my full review in the blog link above!

We stayed here last June on a spur of the moment trip. We lucked out and got the last site available...but I'd stay in the same site again in a heartbeat. I think it was one of the best sites. The campground has great amenities for being a state park...pool, live music, movie night, games, etc. The sites are all pretty good. The newer loop which is where we were was the nicest I've ever seen at a state park...RV luxury level sites. Sites were paved, private, full hookup and even had personal little globe lights at each spot. The older sites (pretty much all of the other ones) were still paved, just older and not as nice.

The tent area is quite nice and unique. The tent sites have parking close to the sites with a short walk to your spot, giving you nice privacy from the other campers.

The biggest complaint I have with this park is the lack of access to the beach. You have 3 ways to get to the beach which is 0.9 miles away. You can walk, ride a bike or take the tram which operates every 15-30 minutes. It was extremely inconvenient to not be able to drive right up to the beach with all of the millions of things that inevitably accompany you to the beach for the day.

Outside of beach access, this is a great park. It's a bit on the pricey side of things, especially compared to other FL state parks. But it is quite beautiful and clean. We stayed at Grayton Beach SP this last trip and we prefer it to Topsail.

Great campground! Popular campground and researvations are highly recommended!

Our site was spacious and surrounded by bushes and trees. Nice and quiet!

Beach access via tram or bicycle. Walking to the beach is also an option; although a bit of a hike.

Excellent location for visiting the all the restaurants and shopping places in Destin and Santa Rosa Beach.

Other nearby places to visit include all the little towns along 30A, such as: Seaside, Watercolor, Grayton Beach, Seagove, Rosemary, and more.

WIll camp here again!

Worth the price for the full hookups, neat pads and site, and other amenities. Quiet, yet very near great little towns like Watercolor and Seaside for shops and restaurants. The volunteers run an hourly shuttle to the beautiful beach (about a 1mile walk) and are extremely friendly and helpful. We live just west of the panhandle and this is our "go to" spot--probably the nicest state park in northeast Florida. We always book sites in the 100's section, where sites are a bit tight but well maintained. My impression is that this park is a hybrid between a more rustic state park campground and a commercialized RV park--hence the title implying a bit of an upgrade from wilderness.

We really liked this park. It used to be a private resort so, everything is really taken care of. Nice concrete pads, 30 & 50 amp posts and nice landscaping. Big rig friendly. Nice walk to beach or they have a shuttle service too. Winter time in Destin FL! You would think it would be crowded in Florida. Pleasantly surprised it was not. Summer & spring break is there big times.
