Great spot for overnight (right off 101). Regular rate is $30/night but they are very generous with discounts. Owners work full time and you can only reach some one by phone after 4.00pm, also everything is set up for self registration. No toilets or showers (were destroyed after storm and not rebuilt) They offer Wifi but it is not usable (in and out). Not a destination but a good spot to spend the night.

I knew before booking that this place would likely be void of reception. That being said this was a quaint stop on our way to the coast. Maps told us about 300 ft later that we had arrived. Aim for Shimmins Ridge Rd. Pulled into one other camper and maybe a camphost? Person had huge propane tanks outside their class A, so not sure. Self registration. Paid Passport America rate plus $2 for each kid. Parked closest to the pond, had a few friendly ducks hanging out. Campground had wifi available and it worked about the same as my Verizon 3G. I could load Facebook and send emails, no text or calling. The office had a concerning sign about water safety. So I dumped our pitcher we filled and stuck with bottled water.

Well... we arrived in The dark without reservations. It is a small park, but I didn’t count the sites. They were all pole Throughs or appeared to be with connection points on either side of the site so you could pull in from either direction. They were long sites and we didn’t have to unhook. The water Spicket‘s leaked, at least two out of three but with all of the choices we had to hook up to we found one that didn’t. The park is a little rundown but there was no rubbish or debris. the park allies adjacent to the east side of Highway 101 about five minutes north of Willits California. It’s in a small ravine type area with the house overlooking it from the north. As others have said there were no workers present and it’s always based on self registration. They except all discounts. We only paid $20 for a $40 full hook up site with passport America. There was a gentleman cleaning up debris around the campground early on the morning we left. I would stay again as an overnighter on a trip. It was a convenient on and off Highway 101 with very little trouble parking in a space and leveling. Being alongside the highway 101 we did hear traffic throughout the night. But it’s constant highway traffic.

Approach slowly, or you’ll miss the entrance! Upon entering, keep right, drive up the hill and grab an envelope at the red building, then continue counter-clockwise and pull into an empty spot. Locate site number on the correct pedestal (can be confusing, as there are multiple pedestals on both sides of the long pull-through sites), then go pay.
Full hookups, everything works, but no showers, and no wifi.
Before coming here, be prepared for where you are going next, as you will have no cell service for route-planning while here. (We have AT&T and T-Mobile, neither of them worked—you are in a tall forest!) This campground is right next to the freeway, so it can be loud at times.
Never met the owner, only spoke briefly on phone to secure the PA discount. Would stop again en-route.

We had no trouble finding it going north (just follow GPS), but it was a bit confusing once we got there. We just needed a place to stay and for that it was ok. It was full-hook up but you couldn’t fill your tank (understandable because of the drought, but for the price…). There were not many sites, and 1/3 seemed to have full-timers in them. Each spot was a pull-through that they wanted 2 rvs in. It was right by the highway so pretty noisy all night. It seems to be somebody’s front yard that they made into rv spots (it is a very useful location for them to be in). They made an effort to make it nice, with trees and a pond (it was stagnant when we were there in July). The office was closed I guess due to covid so all self check-in. Even with a discount we paid 42 which I thought was a lot for what it was. I think there might have been bathrooms there but didn’t check.
