Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on February 02, 2024This camp is really geared towards adult relaxation. A long pier to fish from with fishing net and chairs provided. Beach front sites with full hook up and sewer and cable along with picnic tables. Dog friendly too! We were gifted treat bags when we arrived. Bathrooms are nice with shower and two stalls. Laundry on site. Beachfront sites are not shaded but others are. The only noise we have are from the seagulls and road traffic. As with many beaches, the biting flies and noseeums are an issue for me. Bring spray!! The beach is not a swimming beach but you can walk along when the tide goes out. Staff and guests were all very friendly. Town is only 4 miles away and can offer grocery, bars, and small shops.
I would not recommend bringing children here but seems they are allowed. Bike riding is also not a good idea as there are no sidewalks along the roadside. Plenty of people brought kayaks and have done some fishing. The site is well lit at night and the views of sunset, moon rise and sunrise are all beautiful. The evenings were cool and there was usually an all day breeze which kept us from using the awning.
Overall I would recommend coming here for a peaceful stay. I hope this review is helpful and thank you to Ho-Hum for providing such a wonderful place and experience for us. ❤️
We stopped at the Ho-Hum RV Park on our way from St Petersburg to Panama City. The host was super friendly! She put us in a pull through spot to make it easy to get an early start in the morning.
They have a lovely water front view with a fishing pier and bench swings to enjoy the view. Not much of a beach when we where there (high tide).
Some road noise from Hywy 98 and no walkable services (we did not have the toad with us on that trip).

We stayed here for a week in late 2014. It is a great little park right on the water. The ocean (actually bay) front spots are very scenic. If you are a motorhome you pull into the spot, if you are a trailer you can back into the spot. The park is clean, I saw someone almost everyday raking up the stray pine needles and cones that fell to the ground, and the staff was very friendly. The sites were average in size, and all the amenities worked fine. The beach extends at least a mile into undeveloped areas where people let their dogs play off leash in the water and sand. Everyone was very friendly and respectful of others here. It is a quiet and relaxed park without any resort-like amenities. Carrabelle doesn't have a lot of things to do in the area so you have to drive further to find entertainment if you are not there to fish. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

I did like this place. The staff and other campers were extremely nice, the beach access and view are second to none and it’s fairly inexpensive for waterfront. Plus there is a certain pleasant vibe here that is hard to describe. Also, the campground WiFi was actually pretty good and usable! The camp hosts do an excellent job of keeping the place clean and tidy.
It’s just too bad there is so much noise from the adjacent state road. Not too bad at night thankfully, but during the day it was a non-stop parade of motorcycles and trucks.
If you are not a fisher person, there really isn’t much to do around here. There are better places in the Florida panhandle with beach access and a whole lot less road noise.

Cozy 50 site RV park, full hookups plus cable. We got site 35 last in row facing water, so a side view too. The entire park is packed gravel. Some trees by sites away from water. Small town nearby, nice grocery store and several restaurants. Friendly helpful hosts.Laundry room.Fishing pier. Btw children are now allowed, but none here early in May during week. No pool, but that's not what Ho Hum is about. Yes it's by the road, but noise minimal during our stay.

It was late and the other place I had planned to stay fell through. I called and asked about availability and rates but when I arrived I was told I couldn’t stay there because I didn’t have an RV. Needless to say I was disappointed and frustrated. I ended up having to drive another hour to another park.

We enjoyed this RV park. We didn’t pay for ammenities we don’t regularly use, and the park has a beautiful view, especially from the dock. There were dolphins that visited each night! The park is currently still recovering from Hurricane Michael but they are doing a great job restoring it. The parks WiFi was pretty good too. We explored St. George and Carrabelle!

We stayed at Ho Hum in mid-January. This is a small, Mom & Pop, campground with an amazing 250 foot fishing pier, priceless views of the bay, and an authentic vibe. We pulled our camper straight into the site five feet from the water with an unobstructed view of sunrise, fish jumping and birds sailing by. All this for just 45/night. Amazing. We like the area, too. Carrabelle has a couple of restaurants, a good grocery store, and other services. Eastpoint and Apalachicola are both close by. We were lucky to be here during the oyster festival. A dozen oysters, raw, baked or fried, for just $10. Can't beat it. Lots of friendly people, cute shops, a couple of micro-breweries all make for a fun atmosphere. The wifi is good in the campground. The cleanliness in the laundry and shower room could be brought up a notch. Also, the laundry was always busy so another washer/dryer would be helpful. But, I would definitely go back for the fishing pier, walking the beach and the amazing views.

We stayed 1 night at the beginning of March on our way through the coast.
We were at #C15, we were able to see the ocean from our front door! Not one of the real prime spots, so it was a limited view.
The campground is just a dirt and gravel lot, not a lot of trees, but it’s right on the beach. Sites are rocky but level. It’s also right next to the highway — the road traffic wasn’t too bad and calmed down overnight. The front office staff were extremely pleasant, the showers and bathroom clean and well-kept up.
Our favorite part of this park was walking along the shoreline and finding crabs and snails, watching the pelicans fly in the distance. We took our camp chairs down to the sandy area to the left of the campground and enjoyed the sun and breeze.
Also, the campground offers some advice: kids and families are welcome, but only if they accept the limited amenities and recreational things to do. We’d have to agree, it seems more geared towards retirees or quick overnights, although we watched two kids fish with their dad and they seemed entertained enough.

I checked out Ho-Hum last year when passing through and thought it would be a good place to finish up the winter before heading north. Who could have imagined Ho-Hum becoming a shelter-in-place stop for a good number of families? There were close to a dozen households who had their plans change or their stays extended for the entirety of April and well into May. It became a bit of a community as we got to know each other's names, dogs' names, and kids' names. Even while social distancing there was still a good bit of interaction.
It ended up being a very pleasant extended stay. None of the other guests ever had any complaints about the park or hosts that I heard. Overall, it was a very low key, laid back park. The last 3 weekends were, however, a bit different as lots of weekend campers starting showing up again. It made us appreciate the peace and quiet we had the rest of the time with the park usually less than half full.
Ho-Hum isn't big, and yes it is a gravel lot. BUT they have 3 different grades of gravel (chunky, fine and back-fill/tailings) and take very good care of it. There were several downpours during our stay as might be expected. But other than some minor pooling, the park didn't flood and drained fairly quickly. Utilities were basic but worked fine. Cable was fine and the free WiFi worked OK, but the very affordable premium WiFi was terrific. Electric came in a $0.14/kwh. The washers and dryers have seen better days (2 or 3 of each worked OK) and cost $1.50 each. Great mail/FedEx/UPS service - there was a large table set aside for all the deliveries. T-Mobile and AT&T service was decent though I used my booster most of the time if not connected to park WiFi
Otherwise, it was all about the beach, the water, the tides, and wildlife. Folks spent lots of time fishing from the great pier or from the shore. There is a smaller beach to the east but a much longer one to the west (right) as there were no houses (aside from one) in that direction. Dogs could be off-leash on this beach, and depending on the tide, you would go quite a good ways. Lots of shorebirds, dolphins, probably turtles, occasional shark, stingrays, snails, hermit crabs, crabs, and burrowing things. While the wind did pick up most days, early and late were great times to go out and paddle, some even going across the channel to Bird Island.
Carrabelle has a basic grocery store, gas, a few restaurants, etc. Apalachicola is 30 minutes west, and Tallahassee is over an hour northeast. But there is a huge amount to do all throughout the area. And don't forget the local BBQ and Tupelo honey.
