“Hillside campsite on 49 acres”
This park covers 49 acres and is set near the inlet to Lower Granite Lake, about 0.25 mile from the lake. The camp itself is situated on a hillside, and all sites are paved. Some sites have views of a bay, but not the entire lake. Tree cover is a plus. So is a 0.5-mile loop trail that leads to a bird-viewing platform, and a diverse mix of wildlife and geology, making interpretive hikes with naturalists popular. One strange note: An underground house built in 1980 has been converted to a ranger’s residence. This camp often fills on summer weekends. No campfires are permitted during the summer season.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 11, 2023Dry camping only. Put your payment into envelopes provided and drop in box. First come first serve. The whole park is shaded. Gates are locked at night. Near a road with some traffic driving by but very quiet at night. It's in a canyon so cell service is non-existent. Great hiking trail with interesting historical plaques along the way. Beautiful picnic area within the park. The fishing area is way over-fished; but there is plenty of good fishing not far from the park. 20 minute drive to Pullman if you need to pick up supplies. Just a nice place if you want to get away.
