We stayed here one night as a pass-through, but will definitely be back to Kansas City MO as we just found the Midwest Genealogy Center located very near here. For those of you so inclined, it is an AMAZING genealogical resource! The park itself is nice and relatively clean, if showing its age a bit. Maybe "rustic" or "comfortable" is a better way to describe Blue Springs. The laundry however, was a mess and unusable. The site we stayed in (#51) was an easy back-in and on a concrete pad for $50 all fees and taxes included. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and would absolutely stay here again.

This was just a stopover for us, but I think it is a great option for the area. $23 for electric and $26 for FHU's. We had a large pull through site with a fire pit with a lovely forested area behind us. This is a county park and it is run efficiently. You can make reservations over the phone. We arrived with no reservations. This park is gated and we felt it was in a safe area. Very convenient for visiting the city. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

We spent 4 days here and had a great experience. About 20 minutes to downtown Kansas City and far enough to have a peaceful place to stay. Large gravel pad with water and electric. Dump on the way out. Hosts are great. It was particularly windy while we were here but the trees provided a sheltered spot. Good over the air tv and cellphone reception for both Verizon and AT&T. We had a partial hookup - reg. $26 a night. $2.00 off for being golden! Didn’t have a problem getting here. Pretty straight shot off 70 south on 470. Signs will lead you there.

We stayed for the proximity to friends near downtown KC. The grounds are very well kept with lots—and lots—of lawn/open space. Level sites with crushed rock surface is clean and we’ll packed. Site 58, next to ours, has awesome afternoon shade if you’re here in the summer. We drove through Jacomo CG to the south, and part of the same park system, looked just as nice as Blue Springs.

can't say enough good about this place. The couple that run the place were so helpful It had rained badly the day we arrived and they allowed us to switch to another camp site since the first one was muddy. The property is very well kept. Access roads are paved and wide. Just an all round great feel to the place. We would def stay here again.
Also, the office called me back after I left a message with Parks and Recreation, to follow up to tell me which spots would be available for the one night. Very helpful staff.

Clean facilities, quiet, nice trees and lawns throughout. Dog and kid friendly; perfect for passing through. Very nice playground on site for kids. *Note the blue springs lake beach access is driving distance from campground and doesn’t open until 11am.

Quiet campground back in the trees. Narrowish road around park. Staff friendly. Showers were ok but water not hot. Only lukewarm. A small laundry on site. Was always being used so we went offsite to a laundromat. Close to Lees Summit and Independence. Site was pretty level.

Great place. Good price. Level site. Gravel. Full book ups. Right next to a playground for our kids. Nice grass. Nice staff. Nothing negative to say. About 30 minute drive to anything we wanted to do in KC.

Very pretty campground with rolling hills of grass. Sites vary from full hook-up (FHU) on concrete pads (these sites are pretty close together) to more spread out gravel sites that have either FHUs or just electric.
We arrived during the last weekend in October (the campground does close for the season on October 31st) and most sites were booked. We rolled in and the host gave us some 30A (only) gravel site options which were more than big enough to fit our 40' rig, but weren't super level. We were able to get ourselves leveled. Our site was nicely separated from others.
Showers were weird - some had timers and others were free flowing. Some had poor nozzle flow and others were fine. Water was hot, but restrooms were unheated. Dryer in laundry room was out of commission during our stay.
There is a double lane, two dump station area that you exit the park from. There is a volleyball net and some pear trees in the campground. Trash receptacles are available. OTA TV provided a swath of channels. Verizon coverage and usability was solid.
Park was very quiet at night. Deer were prevalent and visited in the mornings. There were nice (on road) running loops around the lakes. A quick drive to local box stores. About 25-30minute drive to downtown KC.

As another camper wrote, the lake is not accessible directly at the camp site. However, the campgrounds were very clean and quiet and had everything you could ask for… laundry, dumpsters, bathrooms and, for only a little more money, you could have a premium site with full hook ups on a perfectly level pad. Our site (59) was on the end and had a nice big field with volley ball nets and plenty of space to pass a football.
