Not on the rim, but easy to walk there from Maswik. Not as expensive as the rim lodging. Cafeteria on site.
Drove by at night since that's when we were driving through Albuquerque, so no problems as no one was out. Quite a thrill if you're a big Breaking Bad fan!
You can spend an hour or a day in the petrified forest and the painted desert. I went with teenagers and back again with friends and everyone agreed it was worth a visit.
The lodge is pretty, but the ride through the painted desert is what is really beautiful. Gorgeous.
Closed when we stopped by around noon. You can't see in the wigwam rooms as they are all curtained. Interesting but not sure if it's worth a drive by.
The city considered tearing this building down in the 1950s. Glad they didn't. Beautiful building. Take the tour. Very informative. You see a lot of the building and the tour includes the observation deck on the tower.
Terror behind the walls is the annual Halloween event. Even better is going to take the regular audio tour. Still a little eerie but very interesting.
Small, crowded, and usually a wait to be seated - but well worth it! Great food.
