I was excited to read the reviews about this campground offering hookups for only $12 a night. However, when I called to make a reservation in November, the nightly rate had doubled over the past 6 months. Nevertheless, it's still a reasonable price for a full hookup site. This small campground is located directly behind a convenience store and the attached BBQ restaurant. Since Springerville is a small town, the campground was very quiet at night even with it being right beside a highway. Most of the campers appear to be full-time residents, and our back-in site was right next to the campground manager's slightly junky site. Overall, there was nothing particularly great about the campground, but it was adequate for an overnight stop. We especially appreciated having easy access to some good BBQ, and I highly recommend the pulled pork at Avery's restaurant.

Basic campground located close to town with FHU and dirt/gravel level pull-through sites. There were some small trees planted and picnic tables between each site, but sites are very close together. Our table was 2 feet away from neighbor's sewer outlet! Laundry worked fine, but no one was in the office for several hours after I texted to ask if they could provide change for the machines. Very laid-back attitude overall about registering, collecting payment, and checkout time. We would return here if the state park was still unavailable for camping.
