“Donation-based, volunteer-run center featuring a variety of rescued coastal & aquatic wildlife.” Texas Sealife Center is wonderful place to visit with or without children. Plenty of displays, hands on interactive, and educational resources that you don’t want to miss, plus educated volunteers to walk you through. They were initially set up to rescue injured and rehabilitating sea turtles stranded for various reasons such as boat strikes, fishing lines, wildlife attacks, and cold stun. Most of the animals are available for viewing during a short, interactive tour given by volunteers at the center. The volunteers will take you through the center, to the sea turtle pools behind the center, and down small wooded trail to view a wide array of injured and rehabilitating wild animals, such as a Mexican eagle, grey squirrels, occasional owls, sea fowl, and multiple types of turtles, lizards, and more. Lots of opportunities for pictures and lots of opportunity to learn and grow as people, to better protect the wild inhabitants of this area.

This center is completely ran on on donations and the volunteer time of local veterinarians and staff. The tour is free with a suggested donation to this nonprofit organization. Check them out on Facebook for events and times!
