Free overnight with better than average food!
Call ahead.
Right next to I-10 but not terribly loud if you park on back side of the restaurant.

We spent two months on Cape Cod during the COVID-19 stay in place orders. Four times we used this facility during that time and each time went off without a hitch. Dumping is free for campers and buses but be sure not to block the two ramps leading to the commercial dump slots.

Easy to back in with plenty of room on both sides. The only downside is there is no potable water here and the rinse water is a fireman's hose so be careful if you feel you must rinse out your hose, the water pressure will knock you over if you're not careful.

Buy propane and/or gas and the dump/potable water is free. The dump is two sided but the water is on the opposite side against the building. So it's a bit of a hassle to maneuver around in the tight space of the service area.

We spent our first night on our cross country trip from Texas to Cape Cod during the Coronavirus lockdown.

The bathrooms were clean and there were vending machines with soda and snacks available.

There were also a few picnic tables on the grounds if you just needed to spend some time outside of your RV.

Get there before dark or risk the parking lot being full.

You will have to deal with the noise of the Interstate traffic but it dies down later in the evening.

This rest area can be accessed from either Eastbound or Westbound. The eastbound travelers have the advantage of parking behind the building which creates a sound barrier between the Interstate traffic noise and the pull-through parking spaces reserved for truckers and trailers.

Clean bathrooms and vending machines with beverages and snacks.

Once again the previous reviews are spot on accurate. We stayed in the Atlantic Beach campground and the view out our back window was spectacular from Site #10. We had a dense seagrape tree on our north side which helped block a little bit of the chilly wind.

Verizon signal was usable but not very steady at 2 bars LTE. We were told they recently put in an additional tower nearby so I guess it's better than it was before.

We didn't get a chance to visit the fort during on short three night stay, so I can't comment on that. The bathrooms were immaculate and showers were hot with plenty of pressure.

We visited this campground from 01/28/19 until 01/31/19.

We were camped at the nearby Richland Dam Rec Area and decided to come check out this option for a future visit.
At the beginning of the lakeshore there is room for three larger trailers or motorhomes. After that there are a couple of large ruts in the road and a high clearance vehicle would be recommended.
There is a small dirt boat ramp that could be used as a kayak launch, but the lake isn't that large to make a trip out of it, maybe just to get some exercise.
Once past the boat ramp the space really opens up and there is unlimited room for tenters and small teardrop type trailers.
No vault toilet here like at Richland Dam but you may find you can have this place all to yourself.

Everyone should be happy to know that the cattle guards at the entrance to the parking lot have been removed.

We stayed here overnight on the third night of our cross country trip from Texas to Cape Cod during the Coronavirus lockdown.

The bathrooms were clean and there were vending machines with soda and snacks available.

Get there before dark or risk the parking lot being full.

NOTE: Not sure if they relaxed their NO OVERNIGHT PARKING rule due to the Coronavirus situation but we were not asked to leave and neither were a dozen other over-nighters.
