My nephew and I went exploring and ended up here.  It's an amazing place to go - so unspoiled and scenic. Heading South, on the right there's a good place to stop and wander through sea grass, eat a picnic lunch.  There are beautiful inlet views and you'll find shells of horseshoe crabs along the way.  Keep heading South and go across the bridge then go to the access road and park just below the bridge on the left to enjoy a wonderful oceanside walk.  This parking area is where I discovered Delaware has wild cacti!  Just in case you are as unfamiliar with driving on sand as I am, there are places along the park to drive off to the shore.  The signs say you have to have proper deep sea fishing gear there - it also means your vehicle!  Deflated tires, 4WD or AWD, etc.  If you're familiar with driving on deep sand and are properly equipped, there are several access points that take you right down to the ocean.  There is free air on the other side of the road. opposite the access point.  Thank goodness for friendly fishermen or we'd still be stuck there, with a ticket, to boot!
