I made a quick trip here June 19, 2017. The station is now painted a Hunter green with dark blue detailing around the door and window frames. All the glass has been removed from the windows and the door is gone, but it does appear to be in some process of restoration. You are now able to just walk right in the vintage station which gives you an altogether different perspective of the space. Interior was very clean, swept and neat in appearance. There was what I believe was an old vintage Chrysler parked in front of the station, it looks to have been sitting in a field for a great number of years. I do not know if there are plans to refinish it, but to me it does add some character to the station. There is an old work truck under the Route 66 sign, it is a faded red from years of sun, but you just don't see them like this anymore. At the back of the station was an old black Thunderbird, it was in good condition and actually looked like it was driveable. The Old Cafe just immediately behind the station has deterioted greatly. It is no more than a shell now. The floor has started to rust through, but still interesting to view as it is small and gives you a little insight of the space.
