This visit was THE highlight of our 10 day trip to Wyoming and South Dakota. The guides are so charming and friendly, they feel like old friends, and of course the horses are stunningly beautiful. It is wonderful to see them living their lives in such idyllic surroundings, and you're able to get closer to them than I had anticipated. Two thumbs up!

We specifically stopped here on our way further south during a multi-state motorbike tour. Jim is a gem himself. 73 years old, and full of laughs, he taught us how to pan for gold. You buy a $10 package of sand that is guaranteed to have some gold flakes in it -- you're not doing it to get rich -- and he teaches you the technique required to find them.

Beautiful gardens on one side of the road (no dogs allowed, even on leash) and old sprawling trees, with a slow creek that leads to Dow's Lake. Perfect place for a summer picnic, but bring a blanket as there are no facilities or tables.

Not sure any other place I've visited has left such a profound impact on me. It was almost spiritual. My teens were in awe as well.
