Beautiful place, with some gorgeous photo op areas. There's a great overlook right by the parking lot to see the red rock formations both north and south. If you take the hiking trails out into the park you'll find lots of other formations and wildlife as well as an old homestead. My favorite park near the Denver area for gorgeous views and photos.

Couple tips: Be sure to brink bug spray, as mosquitoes can be intense on one (or more) of the hiking trails as it nears the creek. It's $7 for a day pass (as of the date I wrote this) and they don't take credit cards, so be sure to have cash on hand for the entrance fee.

Great place to spend half a day, or a day, hiking through the cool geographical features and taking pictures. Moderate hiking trails wind through the formations. Some picnic tables and portable restrooms are at each parking lot. Road to the paint mines is a well kept dirt road, fine even with low clearance vehicles.

No pets or biking is allowed.
