Beautiful campground, only a mile off the main road. Big pine trees with some nice clearings for tents, big sites. You can hear the river in sites 12-15, 25, 26, river is down a ravine. Friendly host, very clean pit toilets and overall well maintained.

Beautiful lake, we had 2 sites above the lake, were able to walk down and embankment and paddle board, kayak, and fish from there. Kids had a blast. Wind kicked up each afternoon and there’s not much shelter from the sun. Bathrooms were clean.

Walk-in tent site, about 150’ from parking but enough to give decent distance from other sites. Views blocked by some beautiful trees, but easy walk down towards the meadow for the full view, we brought our chairs down and watched the sunset each evening. The boys fished each morning and evening further down the meadow, in the Big Thompson. A few elk in the meadow, and a doe and her fawns visited each evening. Bear scat on the trail to the site. A shuttle goes from the campground to the park and ride for bear lake area, easy to use. Only complaint was the vault toilets.....some of the worst I’ve been to, needed to be cleaned! All in all, a wonderful 3 days.
