This was so fun and informative. Rodger really knows his music history and we had a great time listening to his stories and learning from him. Any fan of Carl Perkins is sure to love visiting this museum.

It was not open. Looked in the windows and it looked like they were doing some construction work to it.

I have been here a few times, home base for us was the Palm Springs area until last year. On one trip way back (the first one) I was with a friend and we met Leonard. If you think what he did is beautiful, then you have met him. He was so kind! Every sentence started with “May I show you something…”. He said he had a calling to build it, so he gave up his life to do just that. He used mostly tires to build it. I will never forget that day or Leonard. Not too far are some other pretty cool things to see, so it is worth staying in the area for a day or two.

This is a very pretty park, with cabins and camping. We spent an afternoon hiking the trails and seeing if we could spot any birds. It is mainly hiking trails and camping spots, you will have to make your own fun here.

The food is great, the amenities are nice. We always enjoy our stay here. Close to the small town of Julian, CA. A couple of miles to Lake Cuyamaca too. Plenty to see and do.

I have always wanted to check this place out and finally did. It wasn’t my cup of tea at all. I like the Mexican wolf exhibit at the Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA much better. The wolfs were in enclosures, not roaming free on their large property. They don’t let them hunt for food. They microchip them, take their cubs away from them and “foster” the cubs to wild wolf moms in NM. It just took my by surprise I guess. None of it felt right.
