I came here despite previous reviews because it was convenient to my route. I opted to stay a second day because it was so lovely.
Yes, you do have to drive through a poorer neighborhood, welcome to free camping.
The gps coordinates take you to an uninteresting spot however it is level and would work nicely for a big rig, if you dared the windy roads of 36. For something smaller, take the turn on the right for riverfront camping, it's very scenic and level. Not sure if the river is higher due to all the snow but it sounds as pretty as it looks :)
Some Verizon coverage but used Starlink more as it was in a clearing

After spending the last month in campgrounds it was great to just find a chill spot. Nice view of the Sierras, short hike to river,10min drive to civilization.
I didn't find the roads difficult. Definitely rocky patches but minor rutting. Way better than Colorado washboard!

This was a back up if i couldnt get into Three Rivers Petroglyphs and it was perfect. Easy to find, plenty of distance between people, pretty views

Pulled into OKC thinking i could get into the central Arcadia campground and no plan B. They were able to get me into Scissor Tail tho! There had been flooding so a number of sites were unavailable and some of the available ones had the electricity turned off, mine included but i was right on the water with a cool breeze. Staff were super helpful & nice. There was trash in the water, which i thought was due to the flood but other reviews mention it. So i spent some time picking trash out of the water.

I usually dry camp so this had everything I needed. Along with a place to park within walking distance of the Marfa sites you get access to the whole property with hammocks, fun restroom facilities, and just admiring their cute lodgings of retro stationary RVs, yurts, tipis and safari tents.
Definitely would stay again

A little road noise

I stopped because of prior reviews. It's peaceful and if you have a van or truck it would be a nice overnight or two. Not good for a towable or RV. Little turnouts and soft sand in places. I had connectivity while exploring

What a great spot. Few neighbors, beautiful view, minimal trash. Warmed up enough to even get some paddle boarding in!
Be careful to check the path into your spot, saw several people get stuck in the sand. It can be windy so may not be the best for tents. Verizon & AT&T were spotty, first time i got good use out of my Google Fi

Well kept, roomy spots, lots of spaces. I usually boondock in scenic places so usually feel claustrophobic in rv parks but with the greenery and "lakes" at the park it was very enjoyable. Had a back lake spot that has a fountain which added nice nighttime acoustics!
