First come first serve. We were worried we wouldn’t get a spot. If we had come after 12 we would have been out of luck. We grabbed site 7 and thought we scored big time. It was a back in site that is super long. Easily fit our truck and trailer combo (40’) with room to spare. Very private with lots of space between other sites. Small creek ran through the back of the site. If you have trailer I recommend this CG. We checked out all the other CG and agreed we had the best. Upper Lehman and Baker Creek are tight with brush leaning into the road(especially Baker Creek- very over grown- truck was scratched just driving thru). Very few sites would fit a trailer or MH at either of the other CG.

Stopped here on a whim for the night. Glad we did. The desert temps were over 100 at 6pm. The wind blew the temps down to the 50s overnight. It was quiet with half of the sites full from what we could tell. We didn’t go further than campsite 3 (xl sites with room for large rigs) It looked like several sites were double sites like ours. Woke at 1 am to close windows and the stars were beautiful. However at 5am on the dot we were woken by 2 gigantic booms. First thought they were earthquakes but realized there was no shaking. Definitely not sonic booms. Next thought it was bombs being tested in the desert to the west. Regardless for being free it was beautiful and a nice place to stop. Almost forgot-Husband says there was a lot of poop (human, dog?) right at the lake’s edge. He wouldn’t let the kids go down there because of it. He thinks that because the pit toilets were far away people went down by the water for privacy.

Nice road coming in. Well maintained and wide. Lots of sites along the water and lots more further from the water. It seems to be well used by the locals for their off roading fun. It didn’t bother us any. There’s plenty of space. The wind however is something else. We couldn’t go outside to enjoy the beauty. It looks like it would be a great place for pronghorn but there’s too many 4wheelers. Only see 2 other camps within sight of ours. Staying here on our way to Tetons.
