Camped there Saturday night on a weekend trip away from the city. Drove with our city car and chose to camp at the Primitive Tent Site since we didn't need much more than a spot for the Tent and a fire ring. The park has 2 camping areas: full RV sites and a small field for tents only. The field is separated from the RV camp and has a separate big parking area. You leave the car and choose any free spot. First come first served. There were trees for shade, picnic tables, fire rings, bathrooms. We were lucky bc there weren't many other campers but still got to experience a whole lot of noise from one camp making a party around the fire at 2 am... Lots of mosquitos in mid-September but not too bad.

With so many picnic tables and fire rings at the field it looks like it can get really packed. But good location, 30 min to Folly Beach and to Charleston.
