Nice shaded campground on the Lewis River with a short hike to Lower Falls. Campsites had picnic tables and fire rings. It was a quiet place but I was there in the middle of the week in Agust so not too many people around.
There was water available out of a hand pump and the pit toilets were clean.
There was a hiking trail upstream to some other falls. No cell service available.

Nice little campground located within the Opal Creek Scenic Recreation Area, along the Little North Fork of the Santiam River. Numerous trails within a short distance of the campground offer scenic mountain vistas, waterfalls, and hikes through old-growth forests. Three Pools Day Use Site is also nearby
The campground is open year-round but access is dependent on road conditions. In the winter the road can become impassable, as it is not maintained for snow and ice. Early season (April and May) may provide a wet experience, but late season (September and October) is usually great times for camping.
No water available but one vault toilet that was clean. Sites are too small for RVs so tent camping only.

This is a first come first serve campground that is for tents only. There’s 7 sites next to the Metolius river. I was there during the second week of September and had the place to myself. The river is a great place for fly fishing with hiking trails along the the river. Camp sites are very large, in fact there could be double the amount of sites and there would still be a lot of room between sites.
There’s a shelter for groups with grills for BBQing with charcoal briquettes. No cell signal, no water and one vault toilet that was clean.

Nice campground next to Payette Lake with swimming, kayak and canoe rentals. Lots of shade at least in the loop we were in. It it looked like most if not all of the campground was shady for the most part which was good as we were there the last day of July.
We were tent camping and had a large site with picnic table and fire ring. Bathrooms were clean.
There’s a hiking trail that goes around the lake that was near our site as well as paved paths for bicycles.

A nice location as it’s one of the more centrally located ones in the park. It’s first come first serve which we knew about in advance. We were actually camping in Teton Natl. Park and got up at 3:30 am to drive 2 hours to Norris and when we arrived at 6am was still 10th in line for a site. Fortunately about 25 vacancies opened up that day. This was during the peak time of about the third week of July 2016.

Tent camping, which we did is easy but a lot of the sites would require significant leveling for RVs. There’s an interesting interpretive center about 200 yards away that gives a nice history lesson on the early days of rangers in the park. Also rangers give talks in the evening.

Bear boxes are in every site and rangers will make sure food is either in the boxes or in a vehicle as bear can come into the campground as well as bison.

Be aware that when the breeze blows from the southwest you can get a whiff of sulfur smell from the geyser basin a couple of miles away but it’s not too bad.

The restroom is clean but no showers.
Overall a good campground and good experience.

The campground is a rustic site situated on a picturesque lake, and offers most campers a view of the water. Mt. Adams Wilderness is nearby as are numerous trails. The campground is small with only 12 campsites. It is located near the Mt. Adams Wilderness.
Boats are allowed but only human powered or electric motors can be used. There is a trail that goes around the lake. There is no water in the campground and one pit toilet but it was kept clean. Small trailers can be used but tents would be easier to use as some of the sites would not accommodate a trailer.
