I am a huge believer in a true review here on Campendium, that being said just read the titles of the reviews, its such a WOW factor when you arrive at Meadow Lake Campground. There’s 8 sites, we got here on a Wednesday June 2022 and we had 1st pick, we choose site 2! 3 bars of Verizon, we’ve been days without service in big sky forest camping (but totally loved red Cliff Campground too!) Vault toilet, nearest dump location is in ennis is for $10 at RV village. We stayed there one night as well and enjoyed the full hookups.

FYI the road you turn onto for a mile, is a bumpy dirt road but totally doable, just take it slow.

Probably my all time favorite campsite was at Kirk Creek Campground and that says A LOT being full timers since Dec 2021 from Florida in our 27” Airstream. This place was a dream! The views were straight out of a travel magazine, the Sunsets could be caught at your campsite or a short hike down below at the rocky beach. We enjoyed both! With no cell service, we took in the views, enjoyed our neighbors (hidden by the brush) and disconnected, I highly recommend it. I wanted to be here for my birthday and it happened l, we didn’t book 6 mths in advance…we booked just a few days ahead. Keep searching and be flexible and it will happen. This campground is a Bucketlist MUST! No showers, clean vault toilets and there’s the avoidable poison oak in the westcoast but all that can be glazed over when you experience the unforgettable Pacific Ocean views. I also took video and shared on our arrowstreamlife Instagram because knowing which spot is golden, is key and we absolutely loved site 13!

(Camp host has nothing to do with bookings BUT keep in mind, from my search, there seems to be 2 sites that are available, on a first come basis, arrive prior to 2pm;) but these go fast!

We found this hidden gem while looking at the Campendium map for places near kings canyon and sequoia. we are visiting these national parks during the winter and most of the national parks don’t have sites available in the winter or electric. We scored 8 beautiful peaceful days here at island park. Site 34 is the ONLY site that has electric and water with views of both the mountains & lake on one side and the valley on the other. We unhooked our 27” airstream and drove the switchbacks and snowy roads up to kings canyon and sequoia (we had no idea the road between the two is closed during winter, like many other things) also you can only see the general Sherman tree Friday-Sunday due to the fires and sometimes closes with bad weather. We absolutely loved our stay and our national park visits. The ONLY thing I would say is the bathhouse here is probably the yuckiest I’ve been in, the shower pressure is barely enough but there’s hot water. They just really need to be updated badly. Get your groceries PRIOR to arrival, the entrance is step and dark at night.

Highly recommend this RV campground, we were referred by another Airstream member and so happy we listened to her rave about this place. The grounds are clean, kid + dog friendly, restrooms and w/d indoor super clean facilities. Pat at the front is sweet as can be. The feeling of all the campers here makes it so peaceful. Wide open spaces, woodsy backdrops and mesmerizing sunrise. Super close to downtown too! We extended our stay because we liked it THAT much!
16 min from dwtn, we chose this spot because we were coming to town for Natchitoches City of Lights for Christmas and it did not disappoint, kid + adult friendly area. We even toured the city streets to find sweet magnolias movie scene that were filmed here and went and had meat pies at Laysones!

3rd BLM location we’ve been to in the USA and it didn’t disappoint. Added perk, cell service for Verizon. Hurricane Cliffs had amazing panoramic views from our campsite # 35, total privacy, you can walk down to the Virgin Dam and ride / walk the trail and use the vault toilets, a short walking distance from site 35. The only downfall to this site and it may just be the windy month of March but HOLY WINDY, like don’t let go of your door when you swing it open. Roads are maintained a bit on sheeps bridge but a bit bumpy, so take your time. The views are worth the swerving to miss the pot holes, to get THE SITE, trust me (pictures posted here for reference) to get to THIS exact site, turn right before you come up to the sheeps bridge hike (there’s also a vault bathroom), then go down the dirt road to the right , 35 is the last site prior to the dam, if you don’t like these sites, THERE IS a turnaround, not to worry. We made the mistake on the virgin trail and went past 25 and there was no turn around, we were in a rough spot with gusty winds but eventually got the truck and 27ft trailer turned around. That row of sites was the worst of the roads , so fair warning;) Overall, we loved this site, we’d come back, just wish the winds would let up a bit. Def worth the trip! And only 20min from Zion and in the town of Hurricane 15min is the best bbq Lonny Boy’s, a family fav, enjoy.

Our 1st choice would be Rancho Sedona RV Park , pricey for our FT traveling budget @ $83 per night FULL hookups + bathhouse, Site #11 (27ft + F250 fit perfectly).
Yes🙌🏻 we do love our State Parks + Nat’l Parks but “this location,” within Sedona, checked all of the boxes.
*close to devils bridge, Mesa airport Sunset, birthing cave (15min)
*walking distance to dwtn Sedona (this is key, so you don’t have to drive, saves in many ways;)
*15min from slide rock ($20 per car, up to 4 ppl)
* the campground is pristine, YES, Rancho does have a lot of rules but honestly, we read thru all of them and agree many listed are necessary and many we already do abide by in a campground anyway…they are just in print, so don’t let one Campendium review change your views of this wonderful place. We wished we would’ve booked here our entire time here in Sedona, which was not 3 days!!!! We checked out dead horse ranch state park, great views of cottonwood but 20 min from Sedona and awful restrooms. 525c boondocking road was too rough even with a lift, so we found elsewhere.
*We had such an amazing experience at Rancho Sedona RV, the people, the creek to play in, the walking distance to the restaurants, the hikes, Slide Rock State Park , biking…this campground fulfilled our expectations!

Overall, our opinion, if you want to experience Sedona in less that 1-3 days and get all the perks of power + water + dump (only dump station is in cottonwood at galvin RV no potable water/DHR $15 to dump /fresh fill), super close to all of the hikes book at Rancho, you will spend so much in diesel going back n forth to town that this is a savings.
