What can you say about this magnificent National park? Such fabulous scenery, lots of traffic because everyone wants to enjoy it. Campground with huge trees, lots of space between sites, sites laid out in interesting pattern rather than parallel rows. Many tenters (sadly in the rain).

A few hints: we entered the park from the north, took backroads through Wares Valley to the west of Sevierville & Pigeon Forge to avoid the traffic but 9 miles or less from the campground found ourselves on road which did not allow trailers. That meant we had to go back into Pigeon Forge & south into the park. Fortunately there is a bypass around Gatlinburg.

While we were there in late June, Laurel Falls was mobbed - at least a hundred cars parked along road to traverse trail that is uneven & very narrow in sections. We went at 7:30 am our last day & had good hike with minimal traffic on the trail, but by the time we got back the crowds were building quickly. We enjoyed Little River Trail near Elkmont and Gatlinburg trail near Sugarlands visitor center.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park is set in an area of cedar forests. It includes a historic farm across the highway, the Sadie Ford Farm where they had many family activities scheduled for the July 4th weekend. There were also many activities for kids in the park as well. Our campsite, 69 was gravel, located on an inside corner but relatively easy to back our 27 foot trailer into. In loop 2, many campsites are pretty close together. You are supposed to clean your site before leaving, some people didn’t. Take precautions to prevent ticks if you are hiking here. We hiked the Cedar Run trail trough meadows & some forested areas but when we returned to our trailer we found 10 ticks on our dog and some on us too. We also rode bikes through the park and on a road through a beautiful forest to Norene, TN - fun road with lots of hills, very picturesque. We would camp here again if in the area.
