My decision to camp at the KOA was somewhat of a last minute decision. The grandkids (5 and 6 yoa) were visiting and they wanted to go camping so I settled on this location. Arriving on a Sunday and leaving on a Tuesday seemed like good idea with young kids.
The campground is located in the rural area of Delaware County. About 20 minutes or so from a larger grocery store. 40 minutes from north Columbus.
There are several amenities which were enjoyed by the kids, including two jumping pillows. Fellow campers were polite and friendly. Staff seemed friendly as well. I don’t typically stay at KOAs and the like, because the value seldom offsets the price. This would be a good example.
First, a mower and a person on it would help the curb appeal. Additionally trimming the weeds around the campground would dress the place up too. There are several flower beds throughout, all full of weeds, including around the pool. While at the pool, I noticed it appeared that there had been a problem with the pool heater, as the front cover was removed and nobody around it. Frankly, it looked trashy. My campsite needed mowed, as well as all my neighbors.
The rental paddle boats were filth. The provided PFDs had holes in them and appeared sun bleached and old.
Water pressure at my site was 50#, however for several hours it dropped to 20# and I had to switch to my water pump to do the dishes and flush the toilet.
I see a decent park here (potentially) but the management needs to pay more attention to the details. Here they fall short and my experience was a bit disappointing.

After her blowing a trailer tire and dealing with all the headaches with that I wasn’t in the mood to deal with a crappy campground. COVID-19 restrictions notwithstanding we finally made it to our campsite to find it well manicured. The parking area was graveled but flat. No weeds in the gravel to be found and wide. We opted to reserve a specific spot which costed an additional $20 a night. I’m not sure that was actually needed because all the sites were nice. This was a full hook up spot. All the utilities were located near the middle of the parking area meaning I hooked everything up with short hoses. The cable worked properly. This left me with little, to not like!
Camp setup was a breeze and found the WiFi adequate however streaming would require an upgrade.
The first employee I spoke to was an older gentleman (older than me) and I inquired as to where a traveler might purchase a tire. He immediately called a friend who owned Richmond Trailer. This in short was quite fortunate. This guy turned out to be a great contact and took care of me fairly and honestly.
Also located in the front is a gasoline station with competitive prices, a store that was well stocked including beer wine and low alcohol, a restaurant/ bar that didn’t suck, in fact their wings were pretty good. All fairly priced.
Plenty of wineries within 20 minutes. A couple of breweries and a distillery.
Two ponds to fish at a nice miniature golf course. Playgrounds and a pool.
Nice place. One of the nicer campgrounds I’ve stayed at.

I’m following up on an earlier review I did on this location. A few changes have been made.
First prices have increased. No surprise there. The number of permanent sites seem to have increased too.
This park is well maintained and clean. Our site was surrounded by permanent sites and overall the noise level and shenanigans often experienced in such a location wasn’t bad.
The park store was well stocked with commonly needed items. You will pay for this convenience. They also sell beer, wine and cigs. They have a gas station that includes diesel. The fuel was moderately priced.
It was my understanding that they no longer allow tent camping. There are a lot of golf carts. Seldom was the required 5 mph speed limit observed. Usually the golf carts drove about as fast as they could.
If you are interested in touring the wineries this is a great location and nice place to stay. They even have a private taxi service that for a fair price will shuttle you to the town area.
Biggest pluses- location and overall nice park.
Biggest negatives- pesky golf carts.

Heading out for the first time this year my first stop was at this campground. When parking my camper I noticed several incompatibilities with my campsite. First, the electric and sewer hookups were located some distance apart and the small concrete pad (patio?) made it impossible for me to park my camper with the front door over the patio without an additional sewer line and an additional electrical line. The fire ring was located next to the driveway (like a foot). So if I parked my camper where I would step out onto the concrete pad, I would need an additional 10' of electric, 10' of sewer hose and I couldn't use the fire pit without burning up my camper. This park has several permanent sites. I met a couple of the permanent folks. Nice friendly types. KOA employees were polite. Even with the Covid restrictions placed on the parks checking in was smooth and seamless. The campground was clean. Roadways were in good condition. 40# of water pressure and seemed to be city water. They do have cable. I did hook it up however it was next to useless, having poor quality. Your neighbors will be close. The park is well wooded. Overall OK.

Weather was great yet hot so for a switch I didn’t have to contend with the rain. This park is situated next to a shallow lake. I’ve stayed at Ohios’ state parks for years and this park has a little different atmosphere. With an emphasis on boating this park draws watercraft fans and I guess maybe not as laid back as the typical RV fan.
Nonetheless the park employees were polite. The pool was clean and well maintained. A lifeguard was on duty. Ample dumping stations and some sites do offer full hook up. The beach was surprisingly clean. No lifeguard there. Several play areas for kids. Kayak and bike rentals are available at the park. Almost all sites have 50 amp. services. All sites are back in. Some sites are available next to the water and are nice.
Too many golf carts.

I’ve camped at Dillon State Park for several years now and I thought I’d write a brief review. Kind of a no-frills adventure, however the park is well-kept and the folks here are nice. This park offers a few full hook up sites, however they are normally taken. Most all sites offer electricity and you can get water throughout the campground. The campsites have asphalt pads and are not particularly level. My campsite had a 50 foot long pad There are several large areas to accommodate big rigs. You are about 15 to 20 minutes from Zanesville Ohio and most stores or restaurants.
Overall nice campground and I will continue to return.

As in my earlier reviews I stated I’ve camped at Dillon State Park over the past several years. I am now camping in the lower section. Much nicer.
If you were looking to camp here I would pick the lower 30s or the mid teens lot numbers.
You won’t go wrong there.
Still a nice campground, I would recommend staying here.

My camping spot was a tight fit for my camper. The asphalt was pretty shot and not a flat piece of ground was to be had. Stepping from the camper steps to the ground was a bit risky as there wasn’t a flat area to land you foot.
The fire pit/ ring was in decent shape but a misplaced piece of firewood would roll down the hill into the neighbors’ campsite.
The picnic table was adequate however has seen several seasons.
The campground is small and yeah I’d say cozy. The neighbors were polite. The nights were pretty quiet. Overall not a bad campground but not exactly a destination resort. One dumping station. Fresh drinking water can be obtained from the dumping area as well. Overall pretty clean however probably could stand to be updated.
The beach was small and in pretty good shape.
I’ve camped here many times throughout the years. Usually once or twice a year. Not really a place that lends itself to larger rigs however there are a few spots that one can fit. Oh yeah, some of the loops at the end of the roads are tricky to maneuver around with a larger rig.
