Very well maintained. Campsites are in the forest. The dry camping sites are especially large. Walk through the campground and down a path along a stream and field to the lake for a protected swimming area, fishing and picnicking. Really lovely!

Large gravel parking area. Not many campers. Well-marked hiking trail. We took a lovely twilight stroll.

Sites are now reservable. Online reservations only. Until recently it was first come first served. Prices have gone up. $70 plus required $10 fee for sites with hookup. $50 plus $10 fee for dry camping. Restrooms and showers available at the harbor but nothing in the small campgrounds which are located along the road. Nice beach, fishing pier and a few restaurants in walking distance. While the location is great I think it is seriously overpriced for what you get: a very small spot jammed up against your neighbors.
This campground has spacious grassy sites. The bathhouse was heated and the showers were clean and great. Lots of hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail. It was late October so they were pretty empty and the fall colors were magnificent. The staff were friendly and helpful. They are open from April 1 to Dec 31. On the downside: lots of potholes on the way in. Take it slowly which shouldn’t be hard since the speed limit is 15.

We stayed in the wooded dry camping area of the Great Falls campground. It was $10. It would have been $20 with electricity. It was mid-week in October so it was pretty empty but most sites showed reservations for Friday and Saturday so be forewarned. We took a lovely 2.5 mile walk around the park which extends quite a ways down the river. Clean restrooms but low water pressure.

We camped in the trees in this pretty park. There’s a lake down the hill where you can fish for rainbow trout in season. The campsites are well spaced. There are pull through sites if you need it. Both water/electric sites and dry camping sites available. Nice clean bath house with free hot showers.
