We came for the Great American Eclipse. This park was north of the path of totality, but the price was worth the drive south to see the big event. The park owners are very nice, and super helpful. If you have any questions, they will help you. On the property, which is private, the full RV Hookup sites, of which there are about 8 face directly onto the Salmon River. You hear the sound of the river from inside your RV. There are a few great fishing spots right on the property. They have a launch for boats and the owner will shuttle you in your car with your kayak/boat to an upstream location and then you take out at the park. They also have a small hot spring, which is clean and very hot, but a so so location. There is also a hike up to some caves. Most of the RV sites are on grass, and there's some tent camping or dry camping sites too. A wonderful place, all of the folks who came through seemed super nice and we made some great friends, too. Bathrooms and cabins looked clean, but we did not use them.

Down sides: noise from Hwy. 93 is present (but most parks in this area have the same issue), the park is not located near any other attractions, so you have to have a drive vehicle (toad) if you have a motor home. If not there is plenty to do here for a few days if you just want to hang out. Food/services are available in Challis to the south, but it is about 20 miles away.

We would definitely come here again.

We booked a night based on the other review provided. We stayed at the end of July, 2023 in a Class A, 30 foot motor home with Jeep towed. First: this location is devoted to sportspeople shooting all kinds of guns and such. We expected a bit of that, and were stupid enough to book this on a weekend, as we had a last minute change in travel plans on a summer weekend, which is not easy. First: booking is easy and prices are decent. We arrived to an large number of vehicles and RVs as a shooting event was being held. Makes sense given it is the main focus here. No staff on hand to direct you to your site, and the map shown in booking is backwards. And we had a lot of trouble figuring things out because of the large number of vehicles and RVs. Turns out someone was camping on our reserved spot. We parked next door, and hoped for the best. Then the shooting started and it was extremely noisy for the next hour or two, possibly more because I am writing this at 8:30 on the Saturday night of our arrival and I am looking forward to leaving in the morning. No staff on hand to help us figure out where to go, and no maps other than the one used for booking the site on line. It was quite a puzzle to find our space, find our space being occupied, and then settle in to cook dinner and enjoy the sound of semi automatic gunfire for hours. This could be a fun place during the week or during off peak times. I can see why it might appeal to folks. I am not seeing or aware of any “facilities” or bathrooms for campers to use. Given the primary use is a shooting range, be careful before booking to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into!!

Came here on our way to the Wallowas from Montana. This camp is an easy pull off from the road nears some small towns with services. Pulled into one of three pull thru sites and stopped for the night. Jim, the host came to greet us. Very helpful and friendly. The Clearwater River is gorgeous! Solar access is good, but not necessary as you get full (yes-full!) hookups in each site. There are a few tent camps with no hookups. We have four bars with Verizon. No over the air channels here but who cares! This is a fantastic deal and pretty with great services. Only issue is low to moderate road noise. Sound of the water rushing helps to mask it! Wish we had more of these kinds of camps around!

We came to this area for the first time. We were very happy with our stay. Stayed five days and felt we had a great camping spot, close to Capitol Reef NP. Staff was great and the gift shop was nice. My hubby used the pool every day, while not the nicest pool we have seen, it was clean and still open in late September. Our site was on the east side, and not on the north where the views of the red rocks are great. HOWEVER, the sites on the north side with the views looked very tight. We had plenty of room, and had a decent rear and side yard that we could hang out in. They have a small fire pit for wood fires in the sites, and most have a picnic table. The pull through spaces in the middle looked good, but we were very happy on east side. Easy access to Torrey and the NP. A great location! We would come again. This also looked to be the nicest, newest RV Park in the area.
