We needed a one-nighter while traveling and couldn’t believe we scored a lakefront site w elec+water for this low fee. The park gets day use boaters and fisherfolk, who were all pulling out when we got there late Sunday afternoon. Probably busy in season but even then, there is plenty of room for even large rigs. PLUS working free WiFi.

Perfect for the night after visiting the various Oregon Trail sites in and around Guernsey. Really friendly staff and nice quiet spot in old section, under a cottonwood tree. Sat at the picnic table w laptop and glass of wine catching up and the sunset was magnificent. Pull through and only 15 bucks!!

We have become used to dispersed camping with maybe two or three other campers in sight and this is definitely not that. We found a beautiful site midday and came back to campers all around us. It is now 9 pm and they are still driving through, finding no room,backing out and leaving. At least at a paid campground, there is a “campground full “ sign out front!! It is a lovely location and really close to the national park but this doesn’t work for us.

Tonight is as quiet as yesterday was crazed. So I wanted to amend yesterday’s review with the notation that if the dice roll your way and the campground doesn’t overfill, it is a perfect place and location.
