The nice and helpful host, central location, and attached park with playground and skatepark made our stay worthwhile. The accommodations are basic but functional which made a convenient stop on our trip.

This is a nice county campground set in the trees west of 395 between Reno and Carson city. It has reasonably sized sites with tables, bear boxes, and fire pits. Running potable water and clean bathrooms with coin showers. They keep one loop open for year round camping. You can hear road noise from 395 but it is not bad.

This is a really nice basic US Forest Service campground along Wolf Creek near the Wolf Creek trail head. There are no amenities other than outhouses (currently closed). The drive down from the trail head parking area is a bit rocky so high clearance is advised. Popular with horse enthusiasts.

Nice camp sites, semi private with foliage. Clean quality amenities you’d expect at a state park. Nice paths for walking and biking with the family. Nature center hours not as advertised online.

Note: I was turned away with my cabover truck camper. Fully self contained RVs only.

We have been camping here for years since it is such a convenient location when visiting Reno/ Carson and is open year round, The sites are basic but nice with table, shade structure, and fire pit. The bathrooms flush and are clean. Nice short walking trails from the campground. It can be pretty hot/ exposed in summer or wind prone with the proximity to mountains and Washoe Lake.

One of the nicer BLM campgrounds I’ve stayed in with tables, shade structures, bbq, fire pits, and even a kids jeep structure. The roads in were in good shape too. Felt safe, quiet, beautiful spot.
