Water frontage. We took a dip in the clear water. Bottom was a little mucky. Rocky beach. Probably 5-6 sites at the end of the peninsula. This is cattle country and they like the sites as much as people do. Be prepared to move some cow poops. 4 mile dirt road in some wash board areas.

On state road 93 about 1 mile south of Cottonwood Landing. 5 miles north of Challis. This is grassy meadow camping. 6 sites with 1 on the river. It does have a boat ramp. There are some low spots that hold water. Big horn sheep were grazing across the field. It is very close to the road, noise was not a problem. It has a vault toilet. We stayed 1 night.

City of Rocks had reservations for every site. We went outside the Reserve on Emory Canyon road. There are several turn outs on the road. Some big enough for a group some are just a single site. Pastoral Sage brush area with cattle. We had a single site. If we were staying a few nights in the area we would keep the site.

We stayed just outside the campground. At the first sign for Spring Creek take a left, it is a woods road. We stayed at the first site on the left. Our site was right on the Salmon River. There are a few other sites here that are not on the water. We did walk to the campground. If you like that sort of camping you might like it. The people who were staying there were using it to launch their rafts. The mosquitoes were bad there. We did take a ride in the car one night as they were pretty ferocious at our site too. It seems that rafting not camping is the big thing on this river. We took a ride to the end of the road one day. The campgrounds along the way were empty except for Spring Creek. There is a campground at the end of the road. The place was packed and very busy with people getting ready to raft the Middle Salmon River. FYI if you do go there leave the hood of your car open and put a small LED light in it. Apparently there is a pack rat problem. We enjoyed the stay at our site. Would we like the other sites? Not so much. There is a place for campers to deposit their trash and waste on the left as you head out.
