Easy to get to and enough RVs to make you feel safe yet not crowded. We passed Flagstaff and saw many RVs parked along the roads. So we drove on and got here following Compendium reviews. You can choose to park in the open or under shades. Pretty level and minimal setup. Would definitely come back if in this area.

We chose this location for our first full-hook-up experience with our Escape 19 travel trailer. (30 minutes from home) The site was a little short to fit both the trailer and TV. But the hookups worked really well and the campground was pretty quiet. Other sites are better than ours as we had to walk down a steep slope to use the picnic table and fire ring. We ended up not using them for the stay.

Second time camped here. I love it. Enough RVs around to feel safe while leaving the trailer during the day to explore the area. There is a dump station inside Joshua Tree NP’s Cotton wood camp ground if you’re here for extended stay. Great for star gazing.

Originally planning to stay just a couple days on route to Lake Tahoe from LA. With the road closures due to flooding, we turned a couple of days into a full week. But we totally enjoyed the extended stay. Lots of things to explore within in an hour’s drive: Mammoth Lake, Mono Lake and abundance of hot springs to soak in.
