In 2021 I went on the tour with friends of the black rock desert group. Absolutely Wonderful tour. Would not advise trespassing as the area has lots of high grass and littered with deep pools. The geothermal temps fluctuate and some pools can get hot enough to instantly kill you. Also if you were to fall in the walls are straight down so you would drown even if the temp was ok. All in all wonderful, felt very safe with the guide and learned alot about the area
