We arrived on Thanksgiving evening without reservations. The campground was full, so we pulled into the Day Use Lot across the highway along the beach. Same price to camp, dry camping only, in a parking lot, but we had the entire lot to ourselves. We were able to run the generator for a few minutes without bothering anyone. Some road noise, but more wave action, so very relaxing. The only caveat is vacate by 9 am. Great for a stopover without planning ahead.

This was a midweek stay, we’ve heard it can crowd up on weekends. No hookups, there are clean pit toilets and potable water spigots.
America Pass was good for half off the $12 fee.
There were only 3 other sites occupied and it was very quiet. We have a 24 ft RV and opted to not use the generator, as it would have WRECKED the ambience.
Most sites were long ago asphalted, but still require some leveling. 30’ might be the longest rig to fit in a couple of the spaces, but longer wouldn’t make it. Ours only fit into a couple.
Really easy and close trails to the falls and Clear Lake.
