This place is amazing! We camped here over the Memorial Day weekend and were very surprised at how few campers were in the area. We saw a few off-road vehicles go by, and there was one RV further up the dirt road from us, but that was it.

As mentioned in a previous review, there are two levels in this area. We stayed in the upper area which is accessed by climbing a relatively steep, deeply rutted hill. We have an off-road trailer which made it up with no problem. However, I would not recommend the upper area for standard RVs. The lower level is easily accessed, but might be challenging for larger rigs.

The campground is located about 5 minutes from Duck Creek Village, about 15 minutes from Cedar Breaks, and about 30 minutes from Brian Head.

I took one star off for noise because from most areas of the campground, you can hear the noise from hwy 14. It's not terrible, but it does detract from the serenity of the area.

We visited during the MLK weekend and had a great experience. It looks to be an old abandoned rv park so no water or dumping. The area is easily accessed and relatively clean -- there were only a few pieces of trash in the fire ring at our campsite. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and lots of space between pads. The Furnace Creek visitor's center is only 20 minutes northwest, and many of the "must see" features of DV are all less than an hour's drive away.

We stayed here in early November, during our tour of the redwoods. The location is a perfect base for exploring the local attractions, including the Avenue of the Giants. Since it was the off season, the campground was not full. It is a beautiful setting surrounded by majestic trees. It is right next to the highway, so you do hear the traffic, but it's not bad. The pull-thru that we stayed in was roomy enough for our 25' trailer and truck. There was a charge for the wi-fi but because of the trees, speed is poor. No cell service, either. But we were there to enjoy nature so not a big deal. The owner and staff were all quite friendly. Danielle and Theresa were very helpful with reservations and check-in, and Cameron and James were super accommodating when we needed help with our trailer. Take a pass on the fish and chips at The Pub, though; we paid +$30 for what tasted like it came from a frozen food box. Instead, make the 20 minute drive north to Garberville where you’ll find a small town with groceries and a few restaurants. Overall, we would stay here again.

We visited on Thursday before the Memorial Day weekend. It was crowded, but there were a few sites available. The lake was beautiful but oh my, the mosquitoes! We ended up staying only one night because they were such a nuisance.

I called to make reservations for a week in March 2022. I was told that they are only doing long-term reservations. :(

We stayed here for the Tucson gem and mineral show in February 2022. The location was perfect -- only about 15 minutes to most of the venues. Spaces in the resort are a little close, but the resort is pretty quiet and has awesome views of the surrounding mountains. The free wi-fi reception was poor in our area. Our neighbors were a mix of full-time residents and part-time travelers. They were all extremely nice, helpful, and welcoming! Overall, I highly recommend this resort.
