Although this is a working farm, it felt very state park-ish. Spaces were adequately distanced and level, campground was clean and peaceful, and bathhouse was super clean. There are also full hookup sites in the front, but they are out in the open and very close together. Older but nice playground and pool (not yet open) are onsite, but location is very convenient to battlefield, Leesburg, wineries, etc.

We stayed here mid-week while passing through. After boondocking for almost a week, it was a great place to stop for an overnight with full hook ups. We had dinner at the restaurant, and our waitress Kara/Cara was so attentive. Food was better than we expected, too! I would suspect that the weekends would be much more lively than a weeknight, but it was very quiet and calm while we were there. We arrived after hours, but our reservation envelope was taped to the office door and clearly marked our space. I agree that it could be really muddy, depending on rain, but overall, I’d stay here again.

We spent spring break at North Bend Campground, and it was one of my favorites! Water and electric (30amp) to our site, right on the lake. Paths led to a small primitive beach (no lifeguard), although there were other multiple designated swimming areas. Bath house was clean and water was hit with good pressure. Nice paved bike/walking path and multiple boat launches.
